8AM lynch deadline

(Gives the mod some time to do something in between here).

11AM night deadline

6PM lynch deadline (west coasters that work till 5PM will have some opportunity to get on here)

9PM night deadline

Is this any more or less reasonable for people?

Isn't this schedule 2 cycles though? Lynch/night, lynch/night. I only see 2. Maybe my definition of cycle is different than yours. :laugh:

I guess it depends upon how you look at it. Since most people call the day cycle a cycle I consider it one cycle. But it could be looked at either way. 🙂
 
That schedule looks good for me.
 
The 2nd set deadlines are a little hard for us UKers besides Devyn...but hopefully that won't cause too much of an issue if everyone remembers it's 3am/5am for us and we are asleep 🙂

Love that our WWness had led to a need of schedules. Now no one has an excuse for missing them :meanie: lynch whoever misses to lynch!

All those times work for me! I'll have a switch in time zones after the second day of the game.
 
Yeah, the 4 cycles per day would be difficult for me to keep up with, being on the east coast and working 9-5 and all. It is not like I can check my phone at work all of the time either.

Why can't people abide to the contingency (is that the word?) PMs? I think that is the major issue that slows down the games... at least the last one.

I don't care if the game runs a little longer. It's WW. I expect it with this many people.
I just don't want people getting mad at me because I didn't have the opportunity to send in a ton of PMs well in advanced. I do not mind sending in one in advanced... but trying to strategize ahead of that? You are asking for trouble. :meanie:

DVM needs it to end by July 15th because she's leaving for the UK, hence the fast pace😉

But you would have all evening to post your comments. Just because you won't be around when it closes doesn't mean you won't participate.

Post/vote at night. Send in your contingencies. Sleep late. Voila!

We will all have to play like that to some degree.

I think that's key.

Maybe to prevent emotional meltdown and butthurtness we can all discuss ways to prevent some of that and vote for it either now or once the game starts. Maybe like nominations for lynches have to be made in the first half of the day cycle, so that peeps all have a better chance of knowing if they have to defend themselves or something. If new info comes up incriminating someone not on the list, that name can go up for the next lynch cycle or requires majority votes or something. Otherwise it would be a headache to keep track of schedules of like 40 people. Imagine like everyone posting "remember I work in the morning and won't be here!" all the time.

Sorry trematode but I leave for the uk on july 17th and can't have the game run longer than the 15th. Otherwise, I would not care if it went on longer than normal.

Yeah with 40 people from PST to GMT, there is no perfect schedule.


I think we just all need to agree to not lynch people because they are "quiet", send in contingency votes, and accept that if something of yours has to be RNGed because you couldn't get online, it's NBD 🙂.

And I'm always afraid that if I put in a contigency vote, I'll just so happen to vote for the person who is cleared moments before the lynch, and then everyone will think I was a wolf voting for a "known" villager. :laugh:

I'm thinking that with this many people, reaching plurality super ahead of deadline isn't likely to happen. If that's what you are worried about. Especially, with deadlines being closer than normal. Most of us are going to miss at least 1 deadline/lynch, so I'm thinking it will be OK. I think with this pace it will be too confusing to push someone to the next lynch because the info on them was found/reported after a certain time. IMHO.

Maybe that's not what you were talking about at all. :laugh:

No way, all that will do is give wolves an extra night to try to plan a way to avoid lynch. Even though I may miss some lynches, I say leave it as is and just have those deadlines. It'll even out in the end, probably.

I get what you're trying to solve, but I think that suggestion just makes it even more complicated. I'd have to not only remember when the actual lynch vote is, but also when the halfway point is (in order to 'nominate' someone).

I think the key to preventing butthurtness is everyone who plays remembering that it's just a game that nobody should take personally. 🙂
 
The game schedule looks good for me. I work at 7 AM EST so I won't be on right before the morning lynch, but that's OK.

Hey guys! This might be a noob comment but does anyone have a list of general rules for WW games? Yes, my GF has somehow enlisted me to this madness...
 
Basic synopses. (read thread though, great information!) I know I'm missing some.


-You can only PM within your 'group', unless otherwise instructed by the Mods(as in a particular item/role lets you PM with a certain person outside of your group)

-Once you are dead, you cannot talk about strategy, at all. Best not to say anything if you aren't certain

-Once you are dead, you must post between stars

-You cannot quote PM's from the mods. You can paraphrase though.
 
To explain further...

-Wolves kill at night (night cycle). Though there are many things that can end up with no deaths or more than one death.

-Villagers lynch during the day. (Day cycle). The goal is to lynch a "wolf".

-In this game, everyone has a role. So everyone has something to "do". They must send a PM in to the mod explaining what they want to do with their role. It is not wise to be freely giving out information about your role whether you are good or bad. You never know who is a wolf and the wolves do not want to be telling others that they are wolves. If you feel that you can "trust" someone enough to tell them about your "role" than you are free to tell them what you want.

-There can also be items. Items are things that can be used during the game that can be helpful, harmful, or just to cause chaos/entertainment. You must also send a PM to the mods explaining what you want to do with an item should you get one.

Basic rules: Villagers are tyring to beat the wolves (they accomplish this by killing off all wolves).

Wolves are trying to stay in the game long enough to kill off all the villagers (they win once # of wolves= # of villagers)

Most of the action happens during the "night cycle". The day cycle is when most of the lynching, waffling and accusations occur in an attempt to get rid of a wolf.

We wondered what you were saying to her, that she was PMing the mods with all sorts of prayers about not being discovered and saving herself from a lynch and not dying without being able to convert a replacement for her... And no one had investigated her at all! :laugh:

That's not paranoia, that's good thinking. :laugh: After SOV's mistake in Clue necessitated cuit turning into a wolf, I have triple-checked everything, even when I was a normal villager and just sending to my group.
