Now they are ready to dose ABX in magical ways.

yeah you can even do the fast track option by getting your associates......wow

Now I may be splitting hairs here but.... If you are licensed as a registered nurse then you are not still in nursing school. Therefore from this list of requirements you cannot be admitted to the program while you are still in nursing school since you are not yet a registered nurse.

I suppose you could graduate, apply for the program and your license at the same time. You could get accepted pending issuance of a license. Then sit around untill the program started and never actually work as a nurse. What program would do that and if they did why?

when I pointed out the ridiculously lax application requirements for PA school at UNM the PA supporters screamed "yeah, those are the minimum, but to actually get ACCEPTED you need tons more experience, blah blah..."

I guess I would rather see acceptance statistics than just the minimum consideration requirements.

Yeah, I mean UCSF SoP's minimum is technically 2.8, but unless you're a child genius with a Nobel prize, you're not gonna get in with that.

Pics or it didn't happen

http://pharmacy.ucsf.edu/pharmd/admissions/

"To be eligible to apply, applicants must have a minimum, cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.80 as calculated by PharmCAS as of the Monday, November 2, 2009 deadline."

Unless you're talking about the kid with a Nobel prize...if that's the case, that kid would probably go for the PhD program anyway. :luck:

I don't like the idea of belittling other professions by saying it is easy to get into that school. Many med students say that about Pharm school

I just had an epiphany.

All I care about is money and making lots of it. I don't want to do something "interesting," or have meaning in my life. I don't care to help people, in fact, if I have to abuse some people or trample on some people on my way to making lots of money, then so be it.

I want more money than I know what to do with. And I don't want to do much work either. I just want to sign **** in a nice office with a bar featuring the world's finest scotch and cigars. Oh, mini-putt and flat-screen are also a must in this office.

I feel so much happier now that I have realized this. All these years I thought I cared about people and contributing to society. This is such a relief.

You always have to take whatever Taurus say with a huge grain of salt.

 Somebody here doesn't know how to use Google.

WOW. I had no idea these type of program existed. I'm seriously going to look into these programs. You might have saved me many years of student loan debt. I already have a biology degree and healthcare work experience. I'm seriously thinking about becoming a NP and these programs would save a lot of heart ache.

Yeah alot of heartache like actually working in the field so you have half a clue when you graduate?

Yes, there are several schools out there with direct entry MSN programs that train you to be an NP. It's perfectly fine to have a BS in another field, as long as you have satisfied the pre-req classes for the program. Definitely utilize that link (posted by UVA grad) to view the list of direct-entry programs available. However, I have found that there are a few schools not on that list that should be. So, you may need to research individual schools. Good luck!

Oh dear god how is this possible? I thought the AMA had balls? I cannot believe they would stand by and let this happen? What the hell has got into these nurses? They have lost thier mind!

I do not go in until 3. 2 of the kids have an inservice day at daycare and are home and the other one is home sick. Nothing else to do but waste time on here.

I'd rather be playing golf today...at least the Masters is on.

didn't know you golf'd. I bet you suck at it.

I see these forums as a source of highly educational matter that I must not neglect.

Horrible. I have only broke 100 twice in my life. I did get a 91 once. Its not for lack of trying. Some people are not meant to be good at golf. I am one of those people. I still like to play though.

Dang, you suck.. I think I broke 100 on my 2nd try as a 14 year old...
Please...stay off the course..you'd slow me down..

:meanie:

Yeah right! Everyone says that! I play fast and I walk thank you...its old farts like you smoking cigars and drinking beer in your lazy carts that slows everyone down. I can finish a round in under 3 hours walking if I don't get slowed up by you and your kind.....

I play with integrity...I count every shot...even the little misses that most people ignore. I get the ball down the fairway its the little flubbed pitches and three putts that tack on the shots.

I have fun thats all I care about.

I agree. I suck at golf but my fiance likes to play so I go along with him and try to play anyway...
[Im a good sport]

You don't get it... My buddy and I can finish 18 in 2 hours...riding. So you'll slow us down. I don't drink when I play and I rarely smoke cigars.

If you can't break 100...it aint from 3 putting buddy.. :meanie:

We don't mind supportive gf/fiance' as long as your fiance isn't like mountainpharmdood.

I suck at golf and we're always on the heels of the experienced golfers taking their time and trying to get a good score.

I agree...some people have it and others don't. I can do wonders with a hockey stick, but can't do **** with a golf club.

ACPE is in a tough situation. If they were to stop pharmacy schools opening just because of numbers, they will be sued. The only thing they can do easily is to toughen the accreditation requirements.

Am I even going to be able to find a job when I graduate?? I mean, c'mon. I just read something that said for the first time in recent history the demand for pharmacist is still great, but not as much. I guess that's great, but when you have places like the State of NC voting on measures to require all state employees to use mail order, that will effect 6000 pharmacist positions in retail. But I guess these executive boards at these schools are just as wise as every other business person and have realized there is money in pharmacy at all levels, including academia and so they add an SOP on to help bottom line figures.. its disgusting. Maybe my school is a product of this same greed, I can't say. But I'm starting to see that by the time I graduate I'll be lucky to get a job without a residency, maybe even with a residency. But I'm cool, not having a nervous breakdown or anything, just realizing I'm probably gonna have to begin another degree when I get this worthless one. Oh joy. 🙁

Are the students that are graduating from Wingate having a hard time finding jobs before or soon after graduation? I ask because it's one of the schools I've been accepted to.

I think the answer to your question depends on whether or not you are willing to move. I doubt every market is saturated; maybe there are nice places still seeking pharmacists. It really depends on your flexibility after graduation and what it is you are looking to do with your degree.

...or maybe I'm simply hoping. 🙂

yeah....quiet. I'm bidding on a new driver on Ebay...got about 20 minutes left.. and I'll sneak in my bid with 20 seconds to go..

Dang it... I aint paying that much for that driver..

Does having a driver from a different set affect your shot?

Oh man..every driver, every club produces different shots and feel based on material, loft, weight, shaft flex length etc. I'm looking for feel and consistency. Of course results are important. My current driver is very consistent and I like the trajectory of my drives...but it doesn't feel good.

It has to feel right.

So are you taking a bit of a gamble with an online driver without testing it in realtime?

So are you taking a bit of a gamble with an online driver without testing it in realtime?

No, because I've already tested this particular head with particular shaft. I usually test it out at a local PGA store (like size of a walmart) and if it's not on sale or they don't have a used one, I look for it online. If price is right, then I'll buy it at the store.

When a new driver hits the market (every 6 months by manufucturers), they release it at $399. Insane. Then in 6 months, it goes down to $199 when the new model comes out. Then in 1 year..it goes down to $149. Then used hits Ebay at around $100... my goal is to get em at around $70 to $90.

It's an old habit. When I learned to golf with wooden heads and steel shaft, all drivers were $79.99..and new model came out every 5 years..maybe. And you only got a new club if you cracked those wooden heads..which I did once a year... when I was young and flexible.

So, I don't like paying over $100 for a driver.
