2009 western university..anyone yet?

Is this the last interview for Western? I'm still waiting to hear back from them. Reading this forum makes me nervous. It's like a countdown to when they'll contact me. Good luck to everyone! 😍

Yes, March 14th is the last scheduled date as listed on their website. I don't know if they'll conduct an interview in April for some people from the hold list or not. I haven't received any phone call yet, so hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for us! :luck:

i am cheering for you!!! you were really helpful to me when i was a noob on this forum hehe...PLUS we both are from UCSD xD

Oh thanks. I hope that you do get accepted to a school of your choice this year. Ah, I just can't wait to get the finals over with at SD before I can "officially" graduate...in 2 weeks! I'll really miss living in La Jolla though. 🙁

hehehe...oh how much i miss SD....but they rejected me faster than you can say "Heck No!" hahaha....1600+ students for 30 seats? or was it 60? a lil too crazy for me haha. gl on finals too then!~🙂

It's 60, but still...that's not a lot! It'll be nice if I can stay there for another 4 years! Sigh... Well, good luck waiting on your result at Western this week! :luck:
 
ill be the honest, im a wreck right now hahaha. i wish i didnt know that the results from the 2/21 interview will be dished out this week. :xf::scared:
 
has anyone been contacted for an interview that was on the hold list? Elaine just informed me that and interview date in April will NOT be held...
 
I officially got accepted today via email. So now I have a choice. Does anyone know the pros and cons of LLU and Western? LLU has a hospital attached and thus more opportunities for residencies, but Western is a good school too. Any suggestions?

when did you get the email? now im bummed that i might not have gotten accepted.....

For those who have gotten invites, what time did they call you guys? Was it around 9 or 10 am?

That is exactly what I told one of my friends. *gaH* Maybe they send out acceptances sporadically, bc Ms. Mendoza did say it takes 2-3 weeks. Sooooo hopefully they have just not gotten to us yet.
 
they usually send out teh emails in the morning.

so if you dont get one after 12pm...then wait until the next day.

if you are accpeted, the people that interview you will call you and congratulate you.

congrats~! 🙂 which interview group were you in? when i had my interview, the professor and 4th year student had plenty to tell me about residency from western. i think you may want to look more into the residency by emailing the school or talking to professors. once again, congrats!
 
So at the end of the day, only one SDNer received an acceptance email?
 
I got an email around 1:00 pm that had a generic title "pharmD acceptance." I interviewed 2/21 at 7:30. They have a lot of research at Western which is why I think I was accepted since my faculty member was really excited by my passion for research and pharmacology mechanisms. But Loma Linda has spots at the NIH rotation which impressed me. I just need to hear some pros and cons from each to decide. It's too hard right now and I only have 2 weeks to send in another check to accept.
 
So I guess the rest of us will be waitlisted? Considering the trends from the previous two sessions, acceptance was only on Wednesday...🙁
 
don't give up just yet! you never know----at our interview, I remember her saying 2-3 weeks~

anyone know when the last day they usually call for interview is? i really want this freaking interview :-(

Just called admissions and acceptances are still going out. Most acceptances will be done by the end of today. The counselor said it is just one lady sending out the acceptances, so she "hopes" to be done by the end of today.

I did not receive a phone call yet, so my guess is what was mentioned earlier...they still haven't called everyone yet. Good luck to the rest of you!

Go to LLU, so that opens a spot for those that didnt get accepted! 😀

im only half joking hehe, congrats though. I think both schools are good. I love western's block system and they are closer to home for me... so western is my first choice. :xf::xf::xf::xf::xf::xf::xf::xf::xf:

Who interviewed you? I thought my interview went really well and I am also interested in research.
 
Anyone hear anything today? I'm getting nervous! The Dean is just having fun reading our posts, making us wait 😛
 
Someone said that most of the acceptances was out today, I'm starting to lose hope 🙁. Does it really take that long to send out 30 e-mails?

Well maybe she got busy and didn't get a chance to send out emails. Don't lose hope yet, let's just wait till we actually hear back. Don't worry!
 
I think im done with the hope. just waiting is so exhausting. ive come to accept the fact that i wasnt accepted... boooooo!
 
I think we should wait until tomorrow. After tomorrow, I think I'll accept the fact that I didn't get in. I was wondering if they sent the email by Last Name??

Can you tell me what your GPA is THank you since you got accepted i want to know if i stand a chance i also went on the interview on feb 21 at 9:30 and was put on hold?

For those who got hold letters in the mail today, where in Cali do you live? I live in Nor Cal so I'll probably get it tomorrow if you guys are down in So Cal. And did you guys receive an email before you got the letter?
