If you use essentially the same essays for CCOM and AZCOM can either school find out and can that hurt you?

Those of you who applied to Touro CA NY and NV how long ago did you receive your secondaries?

Me neither! I saw a few of you say that you got Touro CA, but I only applied to NV. Can't wait for this one, they rejected me quick the last two times because of my MCAT scores... Eat this Touro! Still want to go there, actually it's kind of a challenge now...

I freak out about doing this all the time! I reuse essays quite frequently... No way I could write a new one each time for all of the freaking applications I get. That would be like over 100 essays! Anyways, maybe they will think you are saying "at CCOM" instead of "AT Still" with a residual AT before your CCOM... Or were you trying to say At CCOM to begin with. Confused.

Lol, no I meant to just say At CCOM. Now that you mention it though it's probably worse than I expected if they suspect I was reusing KCOM's 😛

I got the DMU one today also, it was awesome and short! To update on what apps I have received invites for and submitted:

That all depends on the school. I received GWU's secondary app before I was even verified... I don't think most schools care, because they'll just put a hold on your account and cash your check. So, if you never finish the MCAT they just made an easy $100.

According to last year's threads (that I was able to find) Touro and LECOM seem to be the earliest to hand out interviews. Alot of others will wait until August. If you are worried about getting a call you can always send each school a letter stating that you are going to be out of contact for a month due to an Army obligation. If they need to contact you or would like to schedule an interview to call XYZ who is familiar with your schedule and can pick the date for you. I'm not sure how this would go over but at least the schools would know what is going on and you won't be getting a call and then not considered because you didn't respond.

Touro-Ca's is already out? I should hopefully get it soon then, only takes 24 hrs to get down to me judging by last year's correspondance 🙂

Yeah, I know what you mean. It's an odd process. I thought it was really strange as well. I'm thinking that as soon as you pay, the schools can see that you're in the pipeline, but that's just a guess.

All I know is that if they are sending out secondaries on a whim like that, then at least some schools would be happy to take your money even if you don't have an MCAT yet.

They are completely separate admissions committees. They don't speak with one another so no, they won't compare the essays

For me, this question basically means "what kind of role model is a physician in society." Having nothing to do with being a good physician to his/her patients.

The points I made were:

-A physician needs to be kind and respectful of diverse backgrounds.
-A physician's role in society is just as important as their role in medicine. Therefore, they need to be a role model and leader for the community
-Then I told them that I want to be a multifaceted physician, having both roles in the community and to my patients. I write about my mentoring and community service and how I will continue to do these activities as a physician...

Not sure if I went the right way with this!

I think they have a crazy MCAT cut off of around 23-24, and they stick to it!!! Not sure what their cut off is for the section scores, but I'm sure they have them! Trust me, they rejected me with a quickness the last two times I applied... Never even got to the secondary...

Touro-Ca only deals in snail mail. Its a HUGE pain in the ass.

It takes ~5 business days to get mail from Ca to Washington DC judging by how long it took for my letters and such to get to interfolio, etc. They also send you a postcard when you are complete with the date. The whole process with them is fairly frustrating.

at least you found it. I'd contact them though and make sure they have the corrrect e-mail. Wouldn't want a more important e-mail to get passed over because it doesn't get sent to your work e-mail in the heart of application season.

You have no idea how happy I am that I got it! From what I have heard about it, I love that school... In fact if I don’t get into a TX school, It would be one of my top choices. I called to make sure they have my email, but they are already closed for the holiday!

Don’t worry! You will get an interview for sure, and I bet they will call you next week. Even if you don’t get in there, I’m betting you will do great this cycle!

Well if my app last cycle warranted an interview at Bradenton, hopefully with improvements I get another The campus was nice and its cheap, two things I like lol.

Had some massive problems with erie last year and my LORs (namely the fact that they deleted them from their system after telling me I was complete) so I'm just happy that my app is under review before March this time lol

Same. Whats bad is I've got way too many other secondaries to worry about. I haven't even started on my MD secondaries yet, my GF is going to be down for the 4th so I'm not going to get anything done after tonight until Wednesday and then I have a midterm the following Monday so I've really gotta bust my ass and get a few done after work today before she gets here.

I've got UMDNJ to send out, GWU, USUHS, Tulane, Creighton, and as of an hr ago Temple to write. All of them are expensive too except USU which is free(90, 125, 125, 95, 75) groan. I've barely got space for it on my CC currently and I've still got a slew of other apps I'm gonna have to get through.
