I chose 10/1 as my interview date as well. You were right that there were no hosts left, but the next available date is almost a month later. Earlier seems like the better choice, especially since acceptances start 10/15.

Looks like I'll be seeing you there!
 
cole im surprised you didnt get an automatic interview..

doesn't umich do that with numbers as high as yours?

edit: also, didn't apply to utsa, but with your other interviews im 3/3. im sure ill be seeing you around!

I agree with you on the date thing. That week is going to be crazy for me: I go to Chicago on Monday night for U. Chicago interview on Tuesday, fly back to Dallas on Tuesday night, then head up to Detroit on Thursday night for the interview Friday. 😱 But I didn't want to wait a month for the next date.

Gerrard, I think the automatic interviews are based on something other than a strict numbers screen (or people that pass the screen are chosen at random). According to everyone's information, I should've gotten an interview but didn't for whatever reason. No harm, no foul.

Hey loua - was Oct 22 the earliest available date for you? I'm concerned that I screwed up somehow ... I was offered an interview about a week ago, and I signed up for Oct 29 because it was the earliest offered to me (I think I could only choose Oct 29 or Nov 12), so I'm confused how you and Cole got earlier dates. I thought it was b/c of higher stats or something but I'm about where you are in that regard.

probably a limited number of spots exist for each interview day (if everybody offered an interview on day X chose future date A instead of B or C because A is the earliest, then that would be a pretty poorly organized interview schedule).

I'm not sure how they set it up, but yes, Oct 22 was the first available date for me. Maybe they do it by stats, or maybe they do it by when they received your app. Either way, I'm sure we'll both be fine. 🙂
 
i didn't get an email but just checked my status and saw that i got an interview offer, too! wahoo! my first one of the season!!
(i checked like 30 minutes earlier and it said I was still under review, so.. compulsive checking ftw 👍)

Submitted 7/1, completed 8/11 (boo slow committee letters!), interview 8/11! (in state)

Anyone else been "Under Review" for a while? I've had this status since application marked as "complete" on July 29th and can't help but think that the long delay is a bad sign.

I was also complete on July 29th and still under review..
 
I'm still "Under Review" too and I was complete on July 8th.

Come on U Mich!!
 
I have been under review since July 20th. I was assured my new mcat score would be taken into consideration, so thats probably all they are waiting for.... good news is that the scores come out in less than a week. Hopefully the suspense will be broken next week, as well as in a few other schools, for the better or for the worse.

Haha yeah, understandable, and it doesn't help that most of us are predisposed to be over-analytical already. 😛

I wouldn't take it as a bad sign. A lot of us were put as screening complete, can't offer interview at this time right away. Which I take as worse than under review, because that means they haven't made a decision either way as to offering you an interview in the near future.

Looks like the admissions team read your post. This was on their twitter today:

Interview dates offered on rolling basis-not prioritized by stats,etc. More interviewers/rooms allows us to go back to date(s) & open spots.
 
Tried to join the chat thing. Have been trying to log in from 7:45pm to 8:10pm EDT. However, the site kept telling me that "the host has ended the chat session" or something similar. Then, the last time I logged in they said that the chat had exceed the user number limit. =(

Soo excited! I just got my tickets in the mail a few weeks ago! 😀 😀 😀 Hopefully we have a better season this year, haha.

Yeah, I know. Patience is hard. Still, I'm really glad that I haven't been rejected yet - UMich is definitely a reach school for me, but I love Ann Arbor and like the feel of UMich (although I agree that Rodriguez needs to go - two of the most losing seasons in history in a row is not a good sign, and Forcier alone does not a team make). Hopefully decisions soon, they have extensive file review scheduled... good luck to everyone else waiting and congrats on the interviews! If you have free time visit Ashley's 😉 (and stay away from South U...).

I noticed that a lot of those that got the screening complete, can't offer interview had relatively high stats, so maybe those that have been in the file complete - under review forever have that since UMich prioritizes applications they review by stats...but they do NOT rank interviews by stats since they've done that in an earlier step

just trying to figure out why some are in file complete - under review limbo for so long
 
Hey I submitted my application today and everything is ready except my fee has not been received. I paid by credit card right away and got the confirmation e-mail however they are not marking my payment as complete. Did this happen to anyone else? Should I call them or wait???

I'm in the same boat, maybe pay pal takes a few days to process.
 
Just an FYI a hs buddy of mine just got an interview at UMich... Here's his stats:

IS 3.93/ 35R from a very unprestigous school in Michigan.

I checked my status page and it says I've gotten an interview invite. But I never submitted a secondary... is this normal?
 
my status says "File Complete - Under Review". how long did most of you have that status til you got the interview invite?

My status was 'under review' for about 3 weeks before I got my invite.

If you look at last year's thread, there were people who had this until the last week of Sept/First week of Oct before an interview invite. Anything is possible🙂

I was going crazy waiting for a secondary invite from this school (last one not received) so on a whim I decided to poke around their web page and found the status page. They invited me THREE WEEKS AGO.

What do you mean? A good number of SDN members have received interview invites, and as of 8/3 265 (out of 750) invites were sent. I'd say they're well over halfway through sending out invites at this point.

That should be obvious from the thread though, I assume you meant something else.

I believe Tippyboat was talking about the people who have already been put "On Hold" for future re-review, not the entire body of applicants.

where did you find that info on how many invites already sent out?
 
I added U Mich on 07/30 and still haven't gotten a secondary yet.

It is available online to be done anytime? Or do they just take a long time to send out the 2ndary?
