Just dropped my deposit into the mailbox. See you guys in July/August! To those that are still in the waiting process, at whatever stage that may be, hang in there. It is a very challenging and draining process, emotionally and mentally. This is, in fact, my second application cycle with drastically different results compared to last year. The only real difference between last year's application and now was my state of mind. And I am a firm believer that it has a significant impact on the outcome of your applications, whether being the interview or between-the-lines on your written communications with the schools. It is very easy to become negative, and boy did I do that last year! I blamed myself, others, the process, etc...However, I re-evaluated myself and realized that, had I been accepted right away last year, I wouldn't have been prepared mentally/emotionally. I was crushed after being held on the waitlists and outright rejected from other schools. Though this is an extremely important procedure that every aspiring doc. must go through, don't let it get the best of you. Don't take it personally. Remember that you will be beginning a rigorous program once you do get admitted that demands you to be on top of your game. Don't trash the biggest investment you have made thus far-yourself. Good luck.
