I'm curious if anyone was thinking about attending this conference in October? I have never been but I do have interest in attending this year. I've heard it is very informative and enjoyable, and a great way to network and connect with others. 🙂

I've attended the UC Davis Pre-Health Conference previously. It's an awesome event and is very informative. I would highly recommend going if you can. They have a lot of different representatives (including admissions deans and admissions committee members) from a lot of different medical schools presenting in various mediums throughout the conference (ex. admissions panel, workshops, lunch exhibit fair, etc.). It's a great place to learn more about the medical school admissions process. They also have a lot of workshops on different topics within medicine/health. In addition to the pre-medical workshops, they have a lot of workshops and admissions panels for dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, public health, and other pre-professional fields as well.

Here is the program from last year's conference. You can check out the types of workshops and presentations they offer to see if you'd be interested.

You can learn about 99% of the info they have to offer just by going on SDN. I'm not sure that I learned a single thing there when I went a couple years ago.

Networking doesn't get you anywhere in med admissions, and no one will remember you 5-6 years later when you apply to their residency program.

@walloobi had it right. This is a waste of time and money. No point flying across the country to go. Nothing you can learn there won't already be found on SDN. TBH it seems like a cringefest circlejerk.
