I'm sorry! I am expecting a rejection from them as well, though it appears I was not in the same batch of responses that you received so maybe there is still some hope. This process is pretty awful all around - hoping for some great invites for you from sites that recognize how great you are!

I know that the Mass Gen tracks and at least one more Harvard-affiliate have sent invites. Maybe the front page has the full updates? I have only been tracking on Boston Children's out of selfishness. 🙂

Hoping you both hear good news! I have confidence in my (and really all of our) ability to effectively cope with whatever the outcome might be; it's just the painstakingly slow process involved in whittling down what that outcome might be.

Hey you never know! I was convinced Albany had rejected me--then a few weeks after they sent out some invites, I got an invite. You just never know. Hang in there- the waiting sucks, but we'll get through it!

Echoing others that you are not a garbage candidate! You've already come really far! This process is SO rough on our emotions and sense of accomplishment. I know a 50% rejection rate is crushing (same boat here) on top of lack of invitations, but you still have a lot of places to hear from! Waaaay back in the thread someone pointed out that notifications from each site are all independent of each other - just because you've received rejections so far doesn't mean all the rest will be. Keeping my fingers crossed for you, and I can't wait to hear when you have good news!

*Edit 2: This was supposed to be to @Neurophile210 (But also applicable anyone feeling down about their rejection numbers!)

I just wanted to reiterate how supportive and awesome everyone is on here. 🙂

Secondly, I have a neurotic question for yall. Although I am very proud of my essays, my first "batch" of submissions had a few typos. There also were a few percentile errors in the psych eval I attached (My supervisor filled in the tables and I stupidly did not check them!) Any who, I received a few interview invitations from this batch, and I am wondering how closely selection committees review our essays and supplemental materials later on in the process. I have heard the essays are regarded as a mechanism for getting your foot in the door and that the interview is what really counts. What have you guys heard? I guess I just want to stop obsessing over minor errors lol.

I’ve heard it’s not a huge deal / they are as tired while reading them as we were while writing them and may 1) not care 2) not even notice

Kind of depends. Are you applying for an assessment type of track? And, how big and/or numerous were the typos/mistakes?

Personalized Email 12/8 2pm EST

Umm... so the subject line of this email was "Internship Interview Request" but then the content was a rejection... did they forget to change the subject line when switching from interview offers to rejections? I got whiplash from that email!

I found two in my essays. One sentence was missing an "a" and another sentence said "metal health" hahaha. The assessment thing bothered me as I am a pretty strong report writer and I have 40+ integrative reports, but no, I am not applying to any assessment tracks.

I wouldn't worry about it at all. This is pretty minimal regardless.
