I would assume this is an administrative error. Depending on the site size, they may have hundreds of applicants. It may be worth confirming with them because that is very weird. However, I SERIOUSLY doubt you would get an invite and have a *confirmed* interview day only to be rejected later...
I saw something like this happened last year and it was definitely an error! They emailed the person who sent it and received a big apology

This happened to someone else I know last week! It was an error. They looked at the wrong list!
I also haven't heard anything from them yet. I saw on the Google Doc that others have gotten invites so I'm assuming I won't get one, but I still have a little (tiny) bit of hope. Hopefully we hear something soon either way. @rtc7926 please keep us updated if you get a response!
Well I got a response. They told me there was a very competitive applicant pool this year and I would not be receiving an interview. This doesn't necessarily mean that you guys will get a rejection, but I did.
Every site is different. Some send the same day. Others are waiting until the invited students confirm their intent to interview before sending out rejections in case someone declines. The year I applied, one site didn’t send a rejection until the day before we were supposed to submit rankings. 🤷🏻♀️
does the order applications were submitted play a factor in rolling invitations at all? Like does someone who submitted their app sooner than someone else have a higher chance of receiving an interview if they do it rolling ?

Last night I added a site. I just kept refreshing the page … probably for an hour or more and finally got to check out. It was stresssful. The confirmation page did not load so. I am not sure if the application had issues or not. It was stressful
Have you tried using a different browser (Chrome vs Edge vs Firefox), using incognito mode (ctrl+shift+N for Chrome), or using a different device (laptop vs desktop vs phone)? It may be purely on APPIC's site, but it's plausible that a different method of connecting might get through
I tried incognito and that didn’t work as well. Maybe too many people are on it or they are updating. I am waiting on 2 refunds from sites that pulled out.
I've tried all of those suggestions with no luck 🙁 Unfortunately it's now past the deadline for submission, too. I had everything uploaded and just needed to submit the applications. I guess I can email the internship sites, but I'm not sure how much grace they will give me given that I shouldn't have waited until the day of to submit them. Anyone have any advice?
Honestly I kept refreshing over and over and got it submitted… see if you can still submit. If not, I’m not sure because you have to pay for the application to be considered… anyone have thoughts?
They must be able to reopen the portal for sites. If multiple people had this issue they should really do this.

One of my directors said they will likely extend deadlines if they know it was a system issue related to applications! Maybe reach out to APPI help desk and ask about the procedure for something like this?
Hello, sorry if my post was confusing. I have not heard from the DC VA but I know others have received phone calls inviting them to interview from the DC VA. They started making calls on 11/24, from what I can gather from the Google doc. Idk about 12/12- maybe that is the date they send out the official rejection notice??
I contacted the site last night and the training director got back to me. They let me know that APPI contacted them regarding the issue and the portal should open shortly so that I can submit my application. What a relief!
