I had a question about corrections. Are correctional facilities more dangerous than BOPs?

Is the training worth it for corrections?

I had a post doc warn me about the “string of no’s”. Apparently everyone gets it😂😂 you’ll break the string soon!!

I've been threatened in outpatient work FAR more than I've ever been threatened in locked inpatient units, including enhanced security behavior units. Not prison settings, so YMMV.

That is what I thought as well.

Just sent a similar response in PM. I feel safer in my current setting than I do at Walmart tbh.

Corrections = prison…? I mean, some BOP sites include pretrial detainees and committed patients…but yeah, prison.
I mean correctional facility - state facility vs a BOP/federal prison

Aren’t they structured differently and I am just completely confused lol

Are people planning on taking the 15th off (if you are at practicum or school) since it seems to be a big notification day?

In some ways, but there are far more similarities across prisons (state and federal) than differences. Speciality institutions, such as detention centers and medical centers within the BOP, have many unique attributes and missions. IME, these types of institutions are still run like and are treated like prisons within the agency.

Mine too!!!! lol so I’m just going to turn my phone on do not disturb and make sure I have 0 access to email.
Good luck to everyone that has an interview on the 15th. Seems like it is a very important interview day!

Any advice if I should possibly take the day off from practicum. I am unable to be near my phone while I’m at practicum.

What would make you want to take the day off? I feel like if anything it’d be better to go to practicum to have a distraction instead of sitting around staring at your email

Hi all!! I had a quick question- does anyone have the handbook for Mass. Mental Health Center/Harvard @ Beth Israel Medical Center? I had it at one time but can't seem to find it now. Thank you!!!

My friend is considering adding a site- park center inc…. Anyone applying there? You can pm if want to stay private.

If a site (University of Nevada at Reno) has sent out a mass rejection email recently and I didn't get anything yet, is it safe to assume I will receive an interview offer?

Yes, I think so. It happened to me twice and they both ended up inviting me to interview. Good luck and always assume the positive because you are a rock star !

Can you clarify? Do you mean take the day off because you'll be receiving interview or rejection emails during the workday?

I've been delaying in adding these because #studentlife. I believe these are all general tracks. Wish me luck landing a VA this year!

I don't recall seeing one for MMHC? I thought it was just what they listed on their website?

I may be wrong - if someone does have this, please send this way too haha

Has anyone heard from the Virginia Treatment Center for Children? Their notification deadline has passed and I haven't heard. Based on the spreadsheet, people have gotten spam-like notifications from them?
