for anyone else who got accepted off the WL — do we have to withdraw from all other WLs by the 5 day deadline? I couldn’t find that mentioned anywhere

Out of curiosity, for anyone who has been accepted off the WL had you planned to enroll anywhere else on the AMCAS CYMS tool? Wondering how much this affects the adcom’s decision making process (if at all)

No but if you’re holding another acceptance you should withdraw that as soon as you know you’re not going there over UNC… you can stay on waitlists as long as you’re PTE but once you change to CTE you must withdraw WLs

I was PTE elsewhere when I got in off the waitlist… I imagine most people were since you can technically only hold one acceptance now anyway

So should we also expect more movement after June 2nd (the commit to enroll deadline)? I was thinking that by the end of May, I'll give up hope (mostly), but I'm unsure how that deadline plays into things.
Hmmm I feel like it makes most sense for them to fill the class by that point. People only have 5 days to accept or declline so typically people are not able to wait until the deadline. Theoretically, there shouldn't be that many open spots after that but who knows

They did say they were behind this year so who knows.
Do we think they're close to done calling people? On last year's SDN it looks like most As were given out by this week, and one person reported their friend getting an A in early June. I know the WL is "unranked" but having an idea of where I stand would have been helpful. I'm sad but I guess life goes on 🙁

Can an accepted student share how many people are in the groupme?

Emailed the admissions office about the waitlist and this is the response I got, “We offer spots as they become available, but we have no way of knowing if or when that may happen.”

Yesterday I got the call that I got off the waitlist! 9/9/25 interview. In-state applicant.
Congrats bagel! Definitely seen you around these threads a bit, glad you finally got the good news 🙂

The whiplash between "we're so cooked" and "are we so back??" is crazyyyyy - hoping for good news for the rest of us!

Has anyone who has gotten off the waitlist done anything specific to stand out? Feeling helpless rn without being able to send update letters or letters of interest/intent

I think around this time last year in the SDN thread was the last noted A from the wailtist.. do we think they're done?

Any word on how many are in the accepted GroupMe? The FB group says 189

With no reported June A's, we assuming if there's any movement, it will be after the CTE deadline, right? If they're still vague about movement then it's not clear that they're full. Copium maybe?

I know this is a bit out of topic but I would love to get some impression about the school as I am planning to apply this year. Could you guys share what are some of the things that UNC is looking for from their applicants? I heard they look at your community hours a lot. I would appreciate any advice. Good luck to anyone waiting to hear back

Honestly, Stats do play a major role at this school as well as if you are a re-applicant. I know plenty of people with incredible scores and tons of community service hours that were turned down due to age concerns (too young) or not enough gap years taken. This was told to me by a previous admissions committee member so take that as you will 🙂

So they're quite close to, if not at, class size based on the GroupMe? Wasn't sure if it was gonna be 215 or 230 this year

I'm sure they're AT class size. Meaning they'll take people off the WL as someone withdraws

when is/was UNC's commit to enroll deadline? Can we realistically still expect any movement? or would it just be if someone defers admission at this point?
