I asked this during their office hours unfortunately they don’t accept any letters or updates 🙁, all they said was it’s a random waitlist and they’re extending the number of spots on the waitlist to accommodate for the number of highly qualified applicants, they couldn’t tell me specific numbers of how many are on it and how many get off

I hope they use the few weeks left in April to get things together so they can send As immediately at the start of May. I don’t have it in me to wait until June or July to potentially get off the WL

Its a class of 230 this year. last yr was 204 and i was told by admissions approx 60 students came from the waitlist. no idea what this year will look like but i did meet several iffy peeps at second look who seemed to be set on other schools.

My FAFSA was sumbitted on 12/11, not 100% sure on the portal form but probably around a week after i got the email about it on 1/29. I chatted with a few people at second look but no one else I talked to had heard anything yet. They mentioned in the financial aid presentation that there are a lot of FAFSA delays right now, so they expect it to take a bit to get through everyone.

i also received a scholarship offer about a week ago🙂

I think it’s straight random but I didn’t press too hard on it, they basically said anyone on the waitlist is qualified to be a UNC med student hence why it’s a random list

They’ve made a wait list, so I assume all seats are currently filled.

To be fair, the accepted students chat are not good numbers to follow. I got accepted 3 weeks ago and my request to join is still pending

I received scholarship info the first week of April but the only specific info on amounts and stuff in the portal is just the copy of the email they sent under communication. I just have the acceptance form, no specific package info or any details.

weird! I would check under status and communication to see if maybe they sent something that didn’t show up in your email for some reason? that happened to me with a different school’s AMP portal. that’s how I found out my rejection email went to my junk mail 😂
