2025-2026 Drexel Pathway to Medical Application Cycle (DPMS)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hello, has anyone that has accepted their admission and completed the enrollment fee received any correspondence after? Thank you.

Yes, there was an additional letter. In that there is a graduate program brochure that has a checklist of all the things you need to do. Picking up your Drexel email/net id account, accepting the health insurance etc.

Can I ask why you’re decommitting?
I had lost faith in my med school cycle, but I ended up getting an acceptance. I’d love to be in Philly, but mentors all suggested it’s better to take the acceptance n start. Also that’s an extra year of tuition.

smart move especially with the potential law changes eliminating Grad PLUS loans

Congrats on getting accepted. The whole point of this program is to get into med school. So if you already got in, then it wouldn’t make sense to do this program.

i really hope we do and that it's not towards the end of the week 😓 time's been moving SO SLOW it feels

Congratulations on your acceptance and God Bless.

Does anyone know if you have to resubmit AMCAS while in the program? I heard you have to do early action for Drexel but I'm not sure.

Yes we do. They said we should select Early Assurance but when I went to add Drexel it said that the school has to allow me to apply for early assurance. So I marked it as reg decision for now and I’m waiting until there’s more clarity to submit. Ngl I feel like the should give us a waiver tho.

Congrats to those who were accepted! For those who are still waiting, I wish you the best of luck. To those who did not receive an A, do not give up! Apply next year on time and to other schools.

Regarding acceptance, what does it mean to apply to an “Early Assurance Program”? Do I have to apply to Drexel via AMCAS and submit a personal statement and application?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

anyone else got waitlisted?
and if anyone knows how long it would take to hear back?

I was also waitlisted. I've seen on other threads that there tends to be decent movement in June. I've also seen some people getting accepted just a few days before orientation on older threads. I hope we both get the A, good luck!

Yes, check the replies above about this.

where did you receive/see this additional letter?

Do not submit anything to AMCAS until admin tells you to do so after the Fall semester. You will receive more information later in the semester on how to apply (they open the application back up just for DPMS students for DUCOM)

My friend who did this program this past year unfortunately had to appeal and didn’t make it. they found out a couple of days ago. it was because of the GPA cutoff. They don’t know who else was successful in their appeals. but they were really happy to do such a program and they learned a lot from the past year. They said that admin is very helpful in finding out your other options if you happen to not make contract. They said to take this year seriously and to study as hard as you can. I can’t imagine how hard this program must be so I wish you guys all the best in this journey. You guys will all become Drs!

Do you know how many people had to appeal and how many had to drop?

did anyone receive any other information regarding schedules, housing, move in, etc? all i see is the option to enroll and then additional information on the grad student brochure for now

Anyone concerned that they just found out that their appeal didn't go through?

dpms 2024-2025
applied ~1000
interviewed ~150
admitted to DPMS 55*
dropped in fall 11*
made contract in spring~ 34
appealed ~10
succesful appeals ~ 0 (?)

*I'm only certain about these numbers.
Whoa.... that means 61% made contract without having to appeal. I know that the appeal rate is extremely low, so if 2 people had successful appeals, that still means the success rate of the program is 65%, which is extremely low considering cost of tuition, living expenses, and not being able to apply anywhere else outside of DCOM.

and giving 2 successful appeals is being generous. I highly doubt that it ever reaches 2, if any at all.

Nothing substantial as of yet. After I set up my account (per the grad student brochure), I contacted the program administrator about additional information on housing, class registration, etc. They responded saying that they are waiting until they can communicate to the entire group so that all the information goes out at once. It's unclear when that will be though. They did mention that move-in will be the weekend (6/28-6/29) before orientation and that the TAs will create a class GroupMe once the class has been established.

Housing information email was sent out today. Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear back!

is anyone thinking of just getting an apartment instead of dorming for the summer session? curious to know what people recommend
I'm not entirely sure. It depends on what I ultimately find. Worst case, we have the dorms to buy extra time for finding a place. I have yet to receive the email on housing to make a decision
