Hello! I have been following this thread for a few weeks now as I anxiously await my own decisions. Here is my info for those who want to know:

Undergrad: 3.71
Postgrad: 3.86
GRE: 570V, 660Q, 4.5A
I have six years work experience in maternal and child health
Lots of volunteer work including 7 months in Sub Saharan Africa Peds HIV clinic
2 years in AmeriCorps

Applied: UW Global Health (local for me), UNC MCH, UCB MCH
Admissions-UNC
Waitlisted-UW (with favorable position on the list, whatever that means😕)
Waiting: UCB

My questions for those who want to share:
Assuming I get a choice between UW and UNC, is one better the other? I want to work internationally in maternal and child health when finished and UW is a stronger international program, but lacks the strong MCH background. UNC has the strong MCH part, but it would be harder to get the international experience. Tuition expenses also factor into this as UW would be in state tuition and UNC would be out of state.

2nd question: For those who have heard from UW, has anybody received acceptance into the global health program? Waitlist? Rejections?

I also applied to the Global Health program and was waitlisted a few days after my phone interview. It also read "favorable position". Did you have an interview before the wait listing?
Not everyone that was admitted will enroll there, so I have a very positive disposition of being there at the end. The deadline as I was told by the admissions people for candidates to decline or accept is mid April, so we should know our fate by then, hopefully, for the best.

My first choice was Health Policy & Management. Second was Epidemiology.

From what I've gathered, Columbia releases decisions from Wed - Fri through email and will continue doing so until sometime in March. I submitted at the mid-December and my application was under review beginning December 29. I expected to hear sooner from them, but now I'm flat out worrying that I got rejected.

Congrats to you and all those waitlisted/accepted to UW's Global Health program! I was rejected, unfortunately. I wasn't super surprised about that because they emphasized how important it was to have substantial international work experience (I have some, but not a ton), and it is such a small/competitive program. Still a bit disappointing though. I have been accepted to Columbia's Global Health program though, and am waiting to hear from Tulane and Berkeley. So I at least have a good option!

A little confused...Per class as in per year? Meaning that there are 240 people enrolled in any two years at Yale, when you combine all grad students enrolled in all MPH tracks?

Make that 4 waitlisters...also with a "favorable position." I'm not sure if I feel better or just more perplexed after seeing these responses!

Edit: I was also notified of my waitlist position about a week after my interview....I applied PCMI track, I don't know if that makes any difference, but it was still a global health MPH.

I feel like I haven't heard of many people seriously considering Berkeley on this forum...are you out there?! I was admitted to epi/biostats and I'm really leaning towards accepting.

I'm definitely seriously considering Berkeley. It's in my top 2 (with UNC), but I feel like a visit to the school would definitely get a better feel for what's going to be the best fit!

Well, I honestly don't know too much about the program first hand because I never considered it. They don't have faculty that do research in my area of interest (reproductive health), nor am I a fan of Columbus (but many people are!). However, I do have a good friend that is about to graduate with her MPH in health behavior and health promotion from OSU. She absolutely adores it (she was actually the person that planted the idea in my head to pursue an MPH). It has a pretty good reputation and the faculty are supposed to be pretty nice.

I saw my decision for JHU available on the application site on 2/15. I'm not sure how/when the Hopkins AdCom makes decisions, only a few people on here seemed to have applied for the MSPH.

For whatever reason it doesn't seem like JHU decisions come in "massive waves" as we are seeing with Harvard. At least it appears that way in this forum.

I just got the same email. I think it's just a generic email that the school sends to everyone. That would be really silly if it was some cryptic way of saying "Yep, you are most likely rejected; however you can still be semi-associated with us by taking some summer classes."

However, it's a bit frustrating to be anticipating a decision only to recieve this summer session info email
