Ugg, I don't know what to do. I have managed to keep pretty much straight A's for most of my undergrad, but now I'm down to my last year, and I'm taking pre-cal and statistics this year. I'm doing so-so in both, and the semester just started. I'm so afraid I am going to make C's in these classes, and because I'm so stressed out and miserable B's in my other two classes. Now I know overall that it probably wouldn't make a huge difference in my GPA (currently 3.7) but I am considering dropping out for the summer to try and be less stressed (and maybe learn the material before I start for fall) Any ideas? I don't really want to drop but at the same time I'm so worried about ruining my GPA or worse failing one of these classes. HELP 🙂

What if you just dropped one?

The only problem with that is that the only class I can drop (without falling under full time) is BritLit, and that's the one easy class that I can pretty much assume I'll make an A in. Otherwise I would do it. If I didn't have to be full time (financial aid), I'd probably take just statistics and get it over with but that won't work 🙁 Thanks anyway

Don't worry! Just say goodbye to your friends for now and eat, sleep, and breathe this material. You'll get through it if you buckle down and it will be over before you know it. If others can do it, so can you. Chin up and good luck!

I can relate to your situation. I took pre-calc/trig last semester and almost failed. I took my C and a tiny ding on my GPA, but the thought of restarting was just not an option if I want to meet all the requirments to apply to vet school this year. Statistics was also a hard class for me. I would say to hang in there and focus.

I think summer is a better time to take classes because there aren't any friends or extracurriculars. Is there a tutoring service that can help you, too? I know with calc and stats it's more difficult to learn it on your own than say biology.

Maybe try an academic center to help you organize things better and figure out what you should prioritize. Good luck!

Even if the only class you can drop is a relatively easy class, it still might be an option worth considering. Even the easiest classes still require time and energy.

However, you might be the type who needs something that you can do well in so you don't go through the semester feeling stupid (I know that's how I am - if I can do well in even one class, my self-confidence is better and I'm better able to tackle everything else).

You know yourself better than anyone else knows you. I think dropping out for the semester is probably not going to be your best option - you will only have to do it all again at a later time. Suck it up, dig in, and remember - it'll all be worth it in the end!

Alright, I got over feeling sorry for myself and dove head first into everything again. I need straight A's this semester, so therefore I will get straight A's this semester. Thanks for the support all. TTYS
