Ok real talk, I don't think it's remotely appropriate to be using terms like DARVO to describe anything in a game. Sexual assault terminology is not something to toss around at other people in a setting like this, and I am going to report that post.

Like 20-25% of WW is gaslighting. Depends on the percentage of wolves + 3rd parties. You're basically signing up for a game where people lie to you (or you to them but that's less frequent).

I'm aware of how this game works. That wasn't my point.

That's what I'm saying. So Barkley acting the way she has is consistent with what I think a wolf would do by trying to manipulate us.

Not really, reversing victim and offender is common manipulation strategy and I see it used by wolves in most WW games. I brought up the term earlier in this game on D1 and genny replied to me agreeing that it's something a Wolf would do in WW. I didn't see you responding this way then, so why are you responding this way now?

In case you were serious, why couldn't you just PM me instead of reporting a post? I'm right here and quite reasonable to deal with face to face.

Anyways, I would like to see more game-relevant talk as I'm getting the impression that the attention is disproportionally drawn to me now, and it's uncomfortable. All I did was agree with Coopah that Barkley's post was a bit vague, and I outlined it with specific examples to support my assertion.

Because he's actually made an effort in explaining his thought process, and it happens to corroborate mine. He went *ding ding ding* on my post when I said that the D1 wagon on BigCats was suspicious, and Nav also corroborated a lot of my suspicion on AnimalMidwife.

He's either really good at pocketing me by basically agreeing with me, or I'm onto something and AM is suspect.

I defended Nav in that post because Barkley -- in one or two lines of writing -- basically said that Nav hasn't contributed to this game, but the transcript shows that Nav has absolutely written some lengthy posts this game!

It's gaslighting. I hate hate hate gaslighting in real life, and I hate it just as much in a WW game. Barks is gaslighting us by making us think we are crazy by dismissing Navilly's posts are not contributing to wolf hunting.

Okay, so this is about WW games. People are going to act a certain kind of way in here, and if you don't like it then you can respectfully call it out. I don't think it's appropriate to bring in sexual assault terminology to a WW game. Being dismissive or defensive about lying or being deceptive may be rude, but this is a game where there are certain people who's entire role is to try to lie to everyone.

We are getting reports about posts in this game, so let's try to keep the discussion reasonable and leave charged terms with very real social meanings out of it. If you believe someone is actually doing something that is violating the TOS, please report the post.

I like these games and would prefer not to have to take any moderator action.

Assuming you know me well, you know that I'm a survivor of abuse and continue to receive it. That's neither here nor there. Also I assume that you know that DARVO isn't just about sexual assault but also very much Axis 2, Cluster B (e.g. BPD, NPD, HPD).

That said, bringing up terms like gaslighting when describing wolf-like behavior is very much appropriate. So is flipping the script. Abusers gaslight, but I don't see anyone getting on anyone's case for using the term gaslight in WW and I don't see any posts being reported whenever someone uses the term gaslight. Similar with Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender. That's what wolves do.

In all seriousness, you reporting my post wasn't the right thing to do. WW/Mafia very much involves manipulation, twisting words, twisting reality. The fact that I called people out for lying/gaslighting/flipping the script is very much part of the game. 🙂

Instead of jumping the gun and escalating, I recommend sending me a PM if you have concerns so maybe any misunderstandings can be cleared up. Assuming you know me and my SDN history, you know that I'm not one to misbehave.

There is no genny way, and without genny way, you know where it ends up. I did also mention this earlier today that you were my next target after doggo.

Pippy sounds like Pippy, she doesn't seem pushy enough to be wolfing. I don't know that I'd put her in pure village territory, but she's leaning that way for me.
Coop's reactions prior to BC flipping just sound super village to me. I know what it feels like to be so absolutely sure that a player is going to flip wolf and then be totally wrong - and her posts sound very much like that, and not so much like a gloating wolf.

Yes, I have considered a Miz/Nav pack. Miz is on my list for pretending to be grossed out that she's voting the same as you, and then doing absolutely nothing about it.

Oh my gosh that was said SO jokingly. I very rarely vote the same as Nav this early in the game so it was weird for me.

And the big Nav/AM tiff that quickly followed could have been contrived to cover your lack of reasoning for that vote by moving the discussion 3 pages behind, whether you/AM are w/w or w/v, doesnt really matter. No one else on that lynch has any votes, thus I have moved to you. Still curious about the Pippy switch back to doggo after her whole "well fine, i guess I have to lynch nav," which is when I committed to you over dolphin, barks vote added on, then pippy jumped ship.

The other reason I moved AM to my more neutral column from wolf is she hasn't gotten her wolf exhaustion burn out yet. She is not a fan of being a wolf, and me wearing her down has her still pretty resilient. Fits more with a village meta than wolf, but again, it's AM and she is self aware, so always grain of salt and neutral.
