Anyone else dying to hear from UW-Madison!?

I emailed Lynn today to see if all OOS acceptances went out. Here;s what she wrote back:

"
No, we have
not notified all successful applicants of their decision. Our office is still in
the process of working on the letters, and hope to send them next week (most likely
mid-week). I hope to be able to share the decisions as quickly as possible."

I guess its still a good sign!! What I'm worried about though is that these letters being
sent out are rejections...You would think she would have said we'd be notified by email
or phone call. I'm not holding my breath for good news. 🙁🙁
 
Just so you know, I put down my preferred method of contact on the VMCAS as email but they still contacted me by phone. So I don't know why some people are contacted by one method or another. Snail mail may still be a possibility for acceptances for OOS folks.

Hmm, I haven't heard anything and I'm OOS. I wish they interviewed, though! I don't understand why some schools don't interview... it makes me angry! A piece of paper doesn't tell all.

It seems from this that some OOS will only get letters, some of which have not been sent yet. I don't think hope is lost.

I seem to be the only applying IS WI resident right now ... I suppose I should call for myself about those ... too bad its friday night.

Thanks for posting your email shemari. I too am trying not to lose hope, maybe I will at least make the waitlist. Considering how many fellow SDNers have more than one acceptance, the waitlist could really move, you know? Again, fingers crossed!!:luck:

Yes yes! CHEERS to those getting multiple acceptances! May that get those of us on alternate lists on faster! 😀
 
I'd do anything for multiple acceptances! I'd do anything for one acceptance!

You know that email from WI we got a week or so ago that mentioned the March 3rd date? It said our notifications would be sent to specific addresses. Mine mentioned my school one. Did some other people have their email addresses mentioned, or their phone #? Maybe that's why I keep checking my email/phone and there's nothing...

It's so hard to be hopeful in this situation. I'm sitting here and saying, ok, a bunch of schools didn't like my application, what will make WI any different? (Although I know all schools have a different opinion...)
 
That email listed my home address on it, but they still contacted me by phone. So I would guess that all the emails listed addresses. Someone chime in if I am wrong.

Just for those who are "lurking" (because I think i might be the only IS wi member ... if I'm not, say hi!!) I called UW admissions office today and IS letters have NOT gone out, they should **hopefully** go out late this week/early next week. Jeez!?!? Couldn't they just tell us already??
 
I know it's only Monday, and not too much was going on, but did any OOSers hear from WI today?
 
When I called about IS, he thought all our letters had gone out at the end of last week, but I think he was confusing us with OOS (because he went and checked). HOWEVER, this is merely guesswork -- maybe you could call tomorrow? The number (because I couldn't find it at first, and my computer wouldn't open the contact page for some reason) is 608-263-2525.
 
and there was no mail today! This is SO torture! Cruel & unusual I say! So out of staters should know tomorrow or wednesday or so then... The mailman is gonna hate me!

But what if the IS letters went out at the end of the week???? It is possible that we just haven't gotten them yet because of the holiday. Maybe I'll give them a call tomorrow to try to clarify this for our sanity🙂
 
when i spoke with someone at wisconsin last friday he said official letters were going out this week (OOS at least)--even though some have received emails. i imagine IS will not have gone out yet.
 
is there a reason why one person gets a phone call/email and another person doesnt, even if they were both accepted?
 
The IS letters HAVE NOT gone out. They will go out end of this week or early next week. Sorry my post was confusing.
 
WAIT! So are all the OOS letters going out this week? Cause if so, I will join the crew in stalking the mailman.

The dean called me tonight right before I went into class to offer me a place! I could not keep a thought in my head, I am SO excited!!!! I can't believe I got in, I am so happy!

I am OOS btw, and he said that the letters went out yesterday, I was too busy hyperventilating to ask if they were OOS only or what, plus it would have been weird.

And to think this morning I was contemplating calling to see if they would reject me already so I could drop my boring Statistics class.

Congratulations fargeese -- I pretty much want to be you right now! You'll probably get into MN and make it a trifecta (sp?) too! Just send some of that luck my way potentially? 🙂
 
I want to track down my correct info before I post on the successful applicant thread but I can give some hope: my app is not that awesome, just unusual.

Take heart: I only have a 3.4 GPA, I don't know what the sci or cum GPAs are but they aren't much better, and I don't have thousands and thousands of hours of experience, and I got rejected from my state school last year.

It can be done!

And I would like to give a shout out to the SDN community too, all the advice I have gotten here has been invaluable! I guess that means I have to donate now!:laugh:

...on the less bright side, I've given up hope for Wisc...no phone call/email...I think I'm going to give up checking my mail too
 
No!! OOS letters just went out today, it sounds like; IS aren't until later this week, early next week (they told me that directly). Don't give up hope 🙂 (although I'm swinging negative again -- boo, its been a stressful two days)
 
They did send the letters yesterday they said, so either way it shouldn't be too much longer.

Rejection sucks 🙁 but the fat lady hasn't sung yet!
 
Oh I BETTER get my letter tomorrow! It should be here by then if it was sent yesterday, and I am going out of town this weekend, so I wont be able to get my friday or saturday mail until sunday night! I think I might have a breakdown by then. Dont give me the bed next to Britney in the mental ward!
 
For those OOS applicants, last year there were a bunch of people on here that had received calls weeks before I got mine. I hadn't gotten any notice from them, it just came a little later and then a radiologist from the school called. Just saying, if you don't hear right away and have no rejection in hand, don't lose hope!
 
Letters are out and hitting houses, mine = REJECTED, but good luck to all those that haven't braved their mailbox yet.

I'm assuming mine is the big R as well. It's freeeeeezing here and quite honestly I don't care enough to walk to the mailbox!
 
No mail came for me today....Now I have to be antsy for ANOTHER 24 hours! oy vey!
 
OOS and IS have gone out (were postmarked tues/wed) so we should be hearing soon 🙂 stupid east coast distance for mail. (I didn't get anything either. boo)

PS: sorry Nike ... have you heard from any other schools yet? IL maybe?
 
I'm so tempted to call and make them give me their decision over the phone, even if the letter is on its way. I was shaking the entire walk back to my apt, thinking a rejection letter would be there (notice that I don't even use the word acceptance anymore)..that way the mailman will get a break from me stalking him. Although, rejecting someone/getting rejected over the phone may be pretty awkward...
 
I've heard other people do that (at other schools) and apparently they just say "I'm sorry, you were not accepted" or something short and ... sweet? but not really. i'm very tempted too. Let us know how it goes if you do. 🙂 good luck!
 
My mail finally got here, and all I found was.....a donation request from public radio. Guess it's one more day for me, too, not sure how much longer I can stay sane...🙁

So sorry for those who got bad news, I hope you all have lots of happy alternatives!:luck:
 
I actually bundled up and ventured out to the mailbox, all to find a few magazines and junk. I live in MN! It's not that far!

Just called to find out "my application status" and was told ALL the letters went out just yesterday. I didn't ask anything else (and am not expecting anything) but just an FYI!

My friend got his IS letter yesterday.

This isn't fair: We had to wait three weeks longer than this last year.

My mail doesn't come before until 5 sometimes...and since im like as east coast as you can get i figure itll be taking a few days!

i am too impatient for this - but im probably not rushing out to the mail since im not not thinking too positively anymore (though im trying) and with the 5 or 6 inches of snow we just got, my pjs and couch are very nice!

anyone else?
 
My mail doesn't come until 4 ... and we too are getting snow (yay upstate NY!) I was actually hoping that someone else on the east coast had received their letter today, because then maybe mine will be here!! 🙂
