Anyone going to the APVMA Symposium at Purdue?!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I really want to go, my club just became members of the APVMA and we haven't talked about the symposium but I would really really really like to go. We'll see

well I talked to my president and he said that when it was brought up before no one wanted to pay the $100 registration fee, but I've been to all of the meetings and I don't remember the symposium being mentioned ever. Anyway, I have a friend who does research at Purdue and he said I can stay with him during the weekend so I'm probably going to go even though I won't know anyone!!!

That's awesome that your friend is willing to let you stay with him! There were so many people in our club that wanted to go that the number had to be capped at fifty!
There are a lot of exciting labs this year, including guinea pig handling, swine necropsy, parrot handling and PE and production animal repro. I've signed up for cattle restraint and PE and will pick another lab once I arrive at Purdue.:luck:

How do I go about registering and stuff. I just saw an e-mail address to send any questions to.

How did you sign up? I see that Purdue finally has a registration page up, but none of the links work for me.

Also, where did you find a list of the labs and lectures? I can only find the general schedule.

Steps 3-5 aren't available to me. I just get this message at the bottom of the page:

"Online registration is not currently available for this course. Please see the registration information above. We apologize for any inconvenience."

When I click on the View Registration Form link, I just get the following: "The page you were looking for https://www.cec.purdue.edu:443/regforms/.pdf could not be found."

Doesn't seem to matter whether I am using Firefox or IE, it's the same result for both.

ETA: Are you from Purdue by chance? Maybe the site won't let anyone off-campus register yet?

I'm off campus and was able to register a few days ago - I'd contact them if you're still having problems.

I was also told by our prez that you should only be signing up for one lab right now and you will be signing up for your second lab when you get to the symposium (this way everyone gets their first choice?)

The registration site just started working for me today.

I'm the president of my pre-vet group and that's what Purdue told us too about the one-lab-for-now thing. What do you think of it?

I think that there are so many i'm interested in that hopefully I'll be able to get into one of my second choices! But of course it'd be nice to be guaranteed my first and second choice!

Has anyone else noticed how few lectures there are on the schedule?

I'm registered and excited to attend, but I'm really hoping they're planning to add more. Illinois had so many awesome sessions last year that I thought it would be the same this year.

I am very excited to attend as well and can't wait to see you all there!!!
