So how have you guys done so far on the aamc cbts?
AAMC 4:
PS: 14
VR: 12 (one question off from a 13!!!!)
BS: 15
By the way I am seeing excellent scores on this thread. Killinsound some of those scores are obscene.
In a way, it's kind of a curse.
If I do as well as my practice tests, I'll be content.
If I do worse, then I'm going ot be dissapointed, but it'll probably be a good score anyways which means I'll have no reason to be upset.
I have a huge fear that i'm going to encouter weird stuff on the actual test and itll be nothing I know. haha
But then its the same for everybody, and youll still be higher than most lol... We should all be so lucky. 👍
Now I'm really worried
AAMC 10
12 Phys 8 Verb 14 Bio
The overall score is good but I dont know what's happening to my verbal score. I was sitting at 10-11 in AAMC exams for awhile. This is my second exam in a row with this happening.....I just want at least a 10 (hopefully 11 on verbal). Does anyone have any suggestions on what is going on?
where are the AAMC cbt scales?!?
and yes, it works both ways
I also thought aamc 10 verbal was unusually tough -
AAMC 3R - PS 13 VR 11 BS 14 (38)
AAMC 8R - PS 13 VR 13 BS 15 (41)
AAMC 9R next week
3r was way too easy, and I feel unrealistic. To do well on a later test though, that was a great confidence booster 🙂

What are these R's behind the AAMC's numbers?
Depending upon your spread, you might be able to estimate by finding a middle ground on your Kap tests vs. AAMC tests. Kaplans are slightly harder (PS section calculation intense), but there curve is far more generous than the later AAMC exams.

Took AAMC 10 VR this morning and got owned!
VR = 9
that curve is ridiculous (90% = 11)
but would kaplan's scores be a higher or lower estimate than what to expect?if this were a question on the mcat,
score on the actual mcat is most likely to have the highest correlation with:
a) aamc practive cbt exam scores
b) kaplan practice exam scores
c) an average of (a) and (b)
I think we'd all pick (a).

I talked to my Kaplan instructor. He said that Kaplan's FL's are more representative of the actual MCAT and that the AAMC CBT's are more like the MCAT in terms of the questions (ie, they are retired questions) but that the score is less relevant to the statistically more accurate Kaplan.
Thats good news for me. My Kaplan scores are higher in the sciences than AAMC. They are harsh on the scale !
I would'nt be on that to be correct...
