This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Just arrived in Auburn for my interview tomorrow. Definitely a little nervous.

Good luck tomorrow Orca! Don't be nervous, the interviewers are so friendly it was just like having a conversation with anyone else. You'll do great!

I would try not be nervous if I was you. Come a little early and chill out in the room while you wait. If you have a chance, go on a tour ( I would suggest the 11 o'clock with Dr. Hendrix if he is giving them tomorrow) and some of us will stop by when we have some time off between classes. Just have fun, like people keep mentioning, it's nothing more than a good conversation! (but we all understand why you're nervous ;)) Just have fun!

I don't think it's exactly a choice to be nervous.. ;)

Good luck! :luck:

Quick question. I'm planning on attending the 11 AM tour but was just wondering where the tours leave from. Do I need to go to room 251/258 in the Overton Educational Wing or are they leaving from the Overton/Goodwin Center?

Just go to the same room you went to when you checked in to your interview. Kaye will let you know who is leading your tour and you'll leave from that room.

Does anyone know how many OOS students they interviewed??? [/QUOTE]

Kaye said that 280 people are being interviewed. 60 will be send acceptance letters and many of the other 220 interviewed will be waitlisted, all sent via email. We will hear by Wed or Thurs of next week for acceptance or waitlist. She said that last year they got to around #140 on the waitlist. Rejections will be sent out later via snail mail.

Whoops, guess I should read before I post on here. Sorry

Does anyone know if we are told our # on the waitlist??

Could one of the current students tell me what the age demographic is like for your class? I'm older than most applicants and curious what kind of age range is represented in the program. Thanks.

I believe the avg age for my class (2014) was around 22-23 when I was accepted. With that said, there are always a few people that are quite young, like 19 or 20. We also have a couple of students that are in there 30's and one or two that are older than that. So you wouldn't be the only one here. I will say this, the older students usually have families and tend to stay more so to themselves.

If you are interviewing tomorrow feel free to ask the students any questions you might have on the school or what classes are like. Also, if you have time to go on a tour I would really encourage it. We have some really neat things happening and we'd we glad to show y'all.
Good luck and have fun in the interview!

I thought interviews were over? Kaye mentioned that we will be finding out if we are accepted/rejected this week since interviews were done on Friday....or did I hear that wrong??

Tomorrow is the last day of OOS interviews. They will meet Tuesday to iron everything out, and you will still hear from her later this week!

Are acceptance emails going out today? I thought they were....

I just want to say thank you to the students that came around during interview time. Your being there really made us (atleast me) less nervous! :)

They said by the end of the week we would know acceptance or waitlist, and they will mail the rejections . So I'm not even gonna stress until Friday :scared:

I cannot wait to find out!!!!! The suspense is killing me!!!! FutResearchVet, so it sounds like most people they interviewed will be waitlisted if they are not accepted? I would be honored to even be waitlisted, to be honest. Heck, I am honored to have been invited to interview!!!! Crossing my fingers :)

Just got my acceptance email!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Congrats to all who are receiving acceptances! Good luck to those still waiting. :luck:

Congratulations everyone!!! I can't wait to hear about all the acceptances. Good luck to everyone still waiting.:xf::thumbup:

I'm in as well looks like I may be headed south! Very excited! Congrats to everyone :D

Wait listed!
Anyone who got in who is going somewhere else, let them know so I got a chance! Haha

Congrats everyone! We know what it feels like to get that announcement. Bottle up some of this excitement, you may need it in the coming years ;)

War Eagle and we'll see y'all on the plains for Open House!

You're not alone! I got waitlisted also. I pray they get down to me because I really want to go here!

I'm not gonna be optimistic right now, I am crushed by my waitlist decision
Not because I thought I was getting in, but because I wanted Auburn so desperately :(.
I hope the waitlist will get to me I guess.

Congrats to everyone's acceptances! As for the people that have been waitlisted, don't get discouraged, there is still a good shot for you to be accepted!

Just got my acceptance!! Congrats to everyone else and I hope there's spots for all you WL'd too!

Waitlisted...not gonna lie, I'm pretty discouraged. Especially since I was an alternate last year and didn't get in. O well.

For those of you accepted congrats! If you decline your spot please let us know so us alternates feel like we still have a chance

Just remember guys, she went through like about 120 on the waitlist. There are always those that don't make it, but that is a HUGE number of people to go through. Hang in there and focus on your studies this semester. Won't do you any good to worry about getting a spot and then get a "D" and have it rejected again!

Agreed! Waitlisters, we still have a chance so focus on school and stay by your phones! Haha....congratulations to everyone who got in. It was a great group of people that I got to meet and everyone deserved to get in. If anyone from the WL gets called let us hopefuls know on here!

Alternate... agh it's especially hard not knowing where on that waitlist you are!!!! At least there is some news, even though it's not a yes.

I'm an alternate too. Got rejected from my IS UGA today, pretty upset. Still waiting on Mississippi State. I called Kaye to see if I could get an idea on my wait list position, since I'd need to take correspondence animal nutrition, and she recommended I take the class and that I wasn't on the bottom. She anticipated running through 75 to 100 on the wait list.

Acceptances: CONGRATULATIONS and welcome to the AUCVM family! Seniors are already advertising their trailers and apartments so it's not too early to start looking for your new home for the next four years.

Waitlisters: Think positive! Not all hope is lost! Concentrate on this semester. Your chances are better than you think!

Rejecteds: Sorry :( Maybe next year!!

Does anybody know how many students were waitlisted?

So assuming 220 are waitlisted and 100 are eventually accepted, that's like a 50/50 chance of acceptance? Not too bad. If this was a casino game we would have the best odds in the house haha

It won't be like that though. There are only 40 OOS spots total. 60 people were accepted so at least 21 people need to decline for even one spot to open up. I'm not sure how many of the 220 other people were wait listed but not all of them were because some were rejected. We can only hope that a lot of people will decline offers:(

Rejected. Yet again, thought the interview went well but apparently not.

I was there two years in a row. Stick it out if this is what you want to do and bust your ass next fall while taking some tough classes! Also think about Ross. They just got AVMA acredited and friends I have down there have a good time and get a good education.
Keep your chin up! Keep fighting for it if this is what you bleed for like the rest of us!

Congrats on the acceptances everyone! I have hope for all of you on the waitlist!!! :xf: It's game over for me....I was rejected, but I still have hope for Mississippi State. :)

Aww twisted rose, it was nice meeting you at the auburn interview. Sorry about the rejection. I'm losing hope for being on the waitlist. I may just get up and head to St. George University. The more I think about the carribean, the more awesome it sounds lol

I was curious if anyone could shed some light on Auburn's equine case load and program. I'm 90% sure it's my top choice but I haven't heard much on equine's stats from inside students. I've stalked the website heavily (as is typical for our generation) and am just looking for some perspective from current students/Auburn undergrads. Clearly the facility is gorgeous, that much I've seen. Thanks for any help!

Like I've said before, everyone should decline their Auburn interviews... who would wanna go there anyway!?!?!?:p
;)

It was nice meeting you too! I'm glad I got to meet several of you that day. :) I'm sure many of you will get off the waitlist! If I don't get into veterinary school this year or next year, I might consider St. George University. If I didn't have a boyfriend, I probably would have applied this year. :p I think the Caribbean would be fun and different! A veterinarian I know gave one piece of advice for those going to the Caribbean: Get a dog! You are less likely to have your place broken into. But don't give up hope yet! You still have your VMRCVM interview. :D

Yeah my girlfriend isn't taking it too well that I applied to SGU and got accepted. Although she's not taking it too well about any of the veterinary schools I could potentially go to since none are that close to Florida. I just couldn't hold off after working this hard, ya know?
And thanks! I'm hoping for the best with being an alternate at Auburn and interview with VMRCVM. Good luck to you!!!!!

ZPearl, anyone who truly cares about you would not want to hold you back from pursuing your dream. Your girlfriend should be supportive of you. Is she interested in going with you when you go to vet school?
