Lmao sorry, didn't mean to crap on cubs like that. Just considering he didn't campaign and a lot of people (including myself) were vocal about genny and she got deputy, means most people probably chose her.
In any case, after a few games back I'm starting to learn how little mechanics mean anymore so not reading into it too much yet.

I am torn now. I am thinking about leaving my vote on Cubs for right now. Will think a little more, see what everyone else says, but I am leaning toward some weirdness going on with the mayor vote. It does seem strange that quite a few people say they did not vote him, and yet, there he is. Is it because he is a nice little wolf, and being in a seat of power would be perfect for him to "hide in plain sight". "O let's not vote the mayor out...nooo"

I like how this is basically a summary of my earlier wifom.
But regardless, leaving the mayor around for at least a day is usually an ok thing because a village mayor usually nets some village profit
What are your thoughts on non-cubs people?
@SARdoghandler yeah, that's why I said I am thinking...kinda waiting to see what everybody says during the day here.
@Animal Midwife right now, the only thing I know for certain is that I am village. LOL Day 1 is always such a difficult day. Short of somebody rojoing, it is just waiting, and seeing if anybody acts weird. Right now, the only impressions I would have are what have been formed from past experiences, and that is not fair to anyone. Until people actually start interacting and saying stuff.

Indeed it does. And I'm not going to stop until he actually tells everybody how many times I've misyeeted him. It keeps conveniently never being answered while he's been needlessly poking me about this topic for over a year.

My question is what would we get from definitively determining why cubs is mayor? There's already suspicion it might be mechanics related, which isn't affiliation indicative. It could be role related, which isn't necessarily affiliation indicative. It could be that he actually got voted in, which isn't affiliation indicative.
I'm not sure why we're so hung up on it right now as it's something that is likely to remain unclear until later in the game, there is potential to lose something valuable to village since mayors often get extra abilities, and using cubs' #alwaysawoof history isn't exactly great play for RNGd roles.

@Barkley13 I did vote for Cubs long before he was announced mayor. I just have not moved my vote yet.
At this point, nobody really stands out one way or the other. So, on the one hand, everyone may be village. But on the other hand, most of the vocal ones may be wolves. "starts humming tunes from Fiddler on the Roof", wanders off to think. To ponder.

You'll get answers sooner on how you feel about the unknown by interacting with/questioning them. D1 is one of the biggest wealths of information as long as everyone participates. For starters, ask yourself if you agree or disagree with what different people are saying. Do any of the disagreements seem wolfy? (At a more advanced level, do any of the agreements seem wolfy?)

I don't know if she reacted before or after mayor vote. I saw her reactions shortly before she posted last night.
I do think it's strange that she reacted to Flushy's post then voted for him for being a no poster, and also the last part of her reasoning doesn't make sense to me. It seems like she's expressing interest in wanting to play with him since he was voted out early during the noob game, but is also voting on him D1

I agree that it's a little sus and something to keep in mind, but shouldn't be over-dwelled on for D1 discussions, if as important as AM claims, personally would want more of a variety of discussion to look back on then.
Is believing how someone is reading another person enough for a village vouch (edit: is that what this would be considered? It's how I'm taking it and noting it) this early in game? Genuine question.

Her contributions just strike me as forced - like when the boss is coming so all the workers have to look busy so they don’t get yelled at.
No, a vouch is a village read + some form of mechanical evidence to back it up.
In order of strength, from strongest to weakest, for perceiving someone as village:
hard vouch - mechanical evidence that proves claimed affiliation
soft vouch - mechanical evidence that proves claimed ability
strong village read - thread evidence that suggests someone is completely out of their wolfrange
You don't need prior games to make a decent conclusion. Very few people can accurately meta-read people and those who do only can do it for like 1-3 specific people. The majority of reads come from conclusions from the interactions occurring in the present game.
Yes. kata's proving to be checking the thread, but isn't making any attempts to actually help progress things.

The only things I remember from that game are VMH being a banshee, Mel's rage about our stupidity, trying to smoke some sacred grass to talk to the dead, and me and Paws being so paranoid about finding each other that we were basically sketch masons even after being mod-confirmed as lovers/masons/whatever. And I didn't even remember VMH correctly 😕

Because I was wracking my brain trying to figure out how the list was ordered and why. Didn’t know if it was reads or what.
I voted her early because she usually falls under the radar and I figured it would be a good place to start. But yeah her contributions are why I'm happy staying on the vote. I've seen her do similar when she was wolfing before

I don't think there's anything wrong with speculating on the general design of the game. It at least gives something for people to talk about, at which point we can start to shift focus to how people are posting. Not something to yeet cubs over at all, but mechanical speculation is like...normal. And generally how conversations start. Personally I prefer that to thread silence.
