Why did you pick AM of all people?

I don't really know anyone except for Stoat, so I was trying to figure out who to vote for for this first round. AM came off as kind of abrasive at first, so I briefly considered her, but then I got the feeling that she was village and wanted to dig into it.

I second that, I was AM's sidecar in the BoWWnty game and her attitude was similar to what I see here. I think she legit got annoyed at genny. But I also buy that genny's vote on AM was a joke and then she prolonged that conversation. The whole genny - AM discussion doesn't seem wolfy to me yet.

It suddenly occurs to me that a few of you now have gotten your SOs to play after you've played like one game, and yet here I am after almost 8 years and Hubz still refuses

Like assume everyone is village unless said so otherwise in PMs or something. Of course, we also had Reverse WW where it’s assumed everyone is wolf unless assumed otherwise (on top of other complicated mechanics that still fry my brain years later).

Games I ISO'd were Bowwnty hunting, Wwedding, and ggoats. Speaking of which, you guys are hilarious.

I got the first crossvoting, then her saying you have more of an attitude when wolfing, then you disagreeing, but the disagreement after that and what your post to Pippy has to do with it lost me.

Pippy claimed that I was wrong regarding memory of her read rate on another player. I was right. (And she was a wolf.)

But Pippy can’t be really extrapolated to genny?

I wouldn't focus too much on BoWWnty hunting. That was an experimental game with different rules where everyone was 3P.

Admittedly, a better 3p game (assuming you have time) would be Casino. I was putting my own survival over wolf hunting in Bounty more than usual due to being confused on wincons/vulnerability.

I will say, the wolfiest people right now are folks who aren't weighing in at all (except for maybe checking in once at the beginning). They have their own thread, right?

This is a good thought. But the casual coasters (e.g. people who happily joke post consistently throughout D1 while offering barely any original thoughts or casually agreeing with consensus) are better bets to look for wolves.

If I can do a little AM translation...she was pointing out an example of a wolf treating her similarly to how she perceived genny was treating her here.

It's maybe something to think about but I don't know that I see wolf!genny approaching AM the same way wolf!pippy does. I can't remember when they were last w/v outside of HZD and well, I'm bad at remembering that kind of thing from games I modded.

I do find it interesting how much strategizing is going on in the first day. For more experienced players- how much can you actually figure out in the first day without any info from NAs or NKs? Is it actually productive to put so much thought into it?

Mostly Bowwnty hunting, Wwedding, and ggoats. Hard to put the feelings I get into words, humans are complicated (I hear they make you study for years before you're allowed to tinker with them). It was more reading to get a better feel for AM and her usual patterns of response and questioning.

When people are in positions of knowledge/authority, they focus on different things and ask different questions. Being a wolf in this game is, in many ways, a position of authority.

She was active for many days prior to that without bussing.

Wait i thought the whole rojo happened because a wolf quoted their packmate’s slip up?

Adding to this, each day dedicated to non-seriousness pushes the fiscal D1 back. If you have no info other than a night kill (which would then essentially be N0), then D2 becomes D1. And that's one less cycle wolves have to worry about accidentally connecting themselves to their packmates.

As penance for my bowling sin, here's a fun fact: Henry VIII liked bowling so much he banned it for the peasants and put a tax on owning private lanes. In other words, we're playing a nobleman's sport and I henceforth think we should all be addressed suitably (ie. Lady Violet, Duchess Fluff, etc.).

It is a thin feeling and does not stand up to strict logic or analysis, and I would not apply that reasoning to most players. I was apologizing to Mel for angling while teasing True. Fluff responded to my comment with a remark on the content of my tease in a way that seemed a little like conciliatory shoulder pat, figuratively speaking. It's an untrue but vaguely endearing sentiment; I don't think it would be in character for Fluff, being a wolf pretending to be a villager, to think of that particular kind of remark. Maybe to also apologize or focus on their own partner yeet, but not to focus on me. That seems a little "I'm village-- it didn't occur to me to be anxious as a wolf for drawing attention while being playful."

Ftr if this weren’t your first game I’d be pushing harder about you allegedly making a pretty solid village read based on patterns that you can’t describe. But if you’re sincerely wolfhunting I don’t want to put you off your efforts by making it seem like wolfhunting just gets you more and more pressure vs laying low (not true, don’t go that route). To be clear, I’m not looking for an ISO or concrete examples or anything, just a general description. You’re approaching it in the second paragraph (I’m just unclear what the “different things” that you’re seeing are, exactly).

Sort of (note that I was very confused by this part). TME rojo'd, Dana responded as though they were in wolfchat and then very quickly edited her post and immediately threw TME under the bus to save herself. She did lie about the contents of her response post though but stoat pressured her into admitting it.

This! In the noob game we were all swimming upstream, then in the speed game things went so fast you basically had no choice but to vote on instinct. With all the metas and "in emojis you..." type things I'm just wishing I had a manator at this point.

Ok here is where I am at, because I haven't had any strong wolf pings yet.

Nooblets are a mystery to me entirely, and I find voting them out D1 both harmful for morale and not overall helpful for identifying their packmates. So, y'all get a D1 pass from me, this game at least.

I won't be voting lawpy, kal, or meats out today since they haven't played in a while, unless they literally come in here howling.

I have tentative village points for Mel, AM, and genny. Vis always pings me D1 so I'm marinating on that. April hasn't pinged me but I also don't have village points for her yet, so I'm going to read back through her posts. Alley is off-limits d1.
