The downside of being a noob is not understanding when players have years of experience with previous games reading each other.
The upside of being a noob is not having to read too far into it because I just don't know what's going on.

This! In the noob game we were all swimming upstream, then in the speed game things went so fast you basically had no choice but to vote on instinct. With all the metas and "in emojis you..." type things I'm just wishing I had a manator at this point.
Alas, my manator is running the game.

AM was my manator and is under heat (in the first few pages) and I must defend my manator (wolf or not, @Animal Midwife was amazing as a manator)... Let's see what the subsequent pages tell

The only yeets/unyeets for puppy I ever saw were jokes, so that's likely why.
What's off about their original posts for you?

I ISO'd and they've only posted 10 times. I would not consider that as active compared to other players. All of their posts are just questions about the game and other player norms. There was nothing substantial to me in those original posts. It kind of seemed like the opposite version of the classic wolfy "answer questions but don't post any useful strategy" but turned into "ask questions but don't post any useful strategy" which I think could actually work since puppy has those innocent smol noob vibes.

Puppy's new post doesn't clear them still for me. They're still voting fluff but don't want to because they don't know who else to vote for? That's not a good reason to yeet for me, I prefer clear-cut evidence.

No. I have no clue about Ivy. Its just that there's so much discussion already, and youngkal voting Ivy and not considering anyone else is weird to me.

Im confused on how you think im not considering anyone else? There is a literal post where I say other people are playing exactly how id expect them to play so they have been pushed to not being yeeted by me atm. I was the first pressure vote on Ivy so why target me and why now?

Also prior to literally 2 seconds ago when Ivy actually joined it was only posts about catching up.

The speed at which i just read 6 pages is less than ideal. Im not getting too many vibes which is usual for D1. From my memory Genny, AM, Mel and Lawpy feel typical - things I would have previously been overthinking but 🤷🏻‍♀️. SP seems less involved than what I remember and came on quickly after this WZ post..

A little interested that my vote for Ivy didnt bring more to thread from them? Maybe they are being told to ignore it elsewhere

I gotta say, I think puppy had her head spinning most of last game and this hasn’t seemed very different to me.

I'm going to voice a general grievance I've been harboring:
There is nothing wrong with bandwagoning if that's the player you feel strongest about being a wolf. Hyperfocusing on not forming bandwagons can cause misyeeting of villagers and result in a wolf win. It's one thing if you feel weird about why OTHER people are voting for that player, and you should pursue that if so, but I don't get avoiding voting for someone simply because other people already have.

True, but I voted for Fluff and some people think that since I was the second vote that I was sheeping/wolfy.

It's generally better to assume there are no 3p until evidence suggests otherwise because 3p hunting is a common wolf redirection tactic.

But Fluff has played two games before this with role reveals and I feel like it was discussed quite a bit on when people should role reveal. It is true that Fluff role-revealed as vanilla in the speed game as well, but that was when she was under pressure/someone asked her iirc? I don’t think it was randomly stated. I also know that it was discussed in manator chat that vanillagers shouldn’t role reveal because they narrow the NK options down for the wolves. I really thought it was discussed on thread too, but maybe not. I think only Vis would know if Fluff asked about that in their manatee/manator chat.

The strategy of when to role reveal was discussed, but in the context of revealing mayor tie-breaking ability, not revealing as protector (or as vanillager in a future game), so idk if she would have thought back to that advice and applied it here.

What do you think? Let’s consider some effects:
- if they believe you, wolves will know that the mayor can resolve ties and does not have some other mysterious threatening power. Will this affect how they behave in voting (could it help them strategize to avoid getting voted out)? Will this make them more or less likely to kill you, block you, etc (and would it be good or bad for village if negative actions affected you vs some random villager)? More or less likely to try to pocket you? Would they want the mayor position more or less?

- if they believe you, villagers will know you can resolve ties. More info for village is always positive. The limiting factor wolves face is having lower numbers, but the limiting factor villagers face is having less information. More mechanical info for villagers allows better co-operation.

- the act of sharing and how you present it will affect people’s reads of you. Some will have a kneejerk openness = village association. Some might decide you’re lying. Some will think on “would it make sense for wolf!fluff to share in this position? Would it makes sense for village!fluff?” (this is IMO the most important foundation of analyzing actions) and might come to different conclusions depending on their thoughts… so you’ll have to imagine how they imagine your thoughts to figure out whether revealing would hurt or help your image. WW is a great way to exercise those theory of mind muscles

Personally, I would reveal the tie-breaking in this situation. I can explain why, but you should think on it yourself and see if you agree first (and it’s fine if you don’t. People have wildly different playstyles, and that makes it fun!)

Honestly this never occurred to me. Even so, I had tons of questions in the noob game that I posted in the main thread even though I had my role PM and my manator. Maybe that's just OctoDocto's style to stay off the main thread as much as possible, but it's also odd that he keeps mentioning yeeting inactive players when he himself is somewhat hiding away from the thread.
