Other:
Co-founded and currently co-managing a small business since Summer 2014 (I was 19 years old then). I handle distribution and customers. I also aided in mechanical/technical work whenever necessary and also hired employees with my partner.

Business grew into 3 smaller businesses, one of which focused on orthopedics which I was the head of for 1 year and will continue until I get into a Med School. (Getting the business started and running it resulted in my grades “dipping” for Summer 2014, Fall 2014 & Spring 2015).

Not sure if relevant:
  • Female, 22, no kids
  • State: IL
  • Father is physician (retired)
    • Sister and brother are chiropractors.
  • ½ White, ½ Asian (Filipino so should I put down ‘Pacific Islander’ instead? Would it improve my chances?
  • Dual-Citizenship (about to expire)
  • I plan on applying to my state schools (inclusive to state residents).
  • Did not join sorority or frat

Poor Grades:
‘C’ in Nursing Chem
‘C’ in Intro to Chem 1 (Summer 2014)
‘C’ in Intro to Bio 1 (Summer 2014)
W in Intro to Bio 2, retaken and received ‘C’ (Fall 2014 [withdrew], retaken Spring 2015)

Should I retake any of these courses at my community college (to save money) for the GPA boost?

Like I said before, I started my business Summer of 2014 (Freshman to Sophomore year). I took summer courses simultaneously while also volunteered and worked so that was a lot to juggle for me at the time. I wasn’t able to find that perfect “balance” until midterms of Spring 2015 (Sophomore) and it was already too late to bring up my Intro to Bio 2 course to a B.

Assuming an upward trend, you're probably competitive at many DO schools. Another year of grades if you're chasing an MD.
