I have found that application statistics are too general so I wanted to post on here to paint a better picture for my chances with my application. Any advice would be useful. I will be applying for the 2017-2018 cycle on TMDSAS all schools (even DO since I am interested in psychiatry, but prefer MD)

Undergrad: UCLA
Year in school: Senior (gap year will be taken)
Major: Physiological Science (excruciatingly competitive)
Texas Resident

TMDSAS cGPA: 3.63
TMDSAS sGPA: 3.58
-I calculated my GPA using their system because UCLA calculates GPAs differently with +/-
-I had a rocky first year and an alright second year. I have essentially gotten a 4.0 every quarter junior year (except for one B) and every quarter so far senior year. My upper division science GPA is a 3.8

MCAT: 507 (127/126/127/127) --> I would really prefer not to take this again. I gave it my all.

Shadowing/Clinical experience:
-200 hours shadowing an anesthesiologist and observing multiple operations from many different specialists in the OR(colonoscopy, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, laser surgery)
-100 hours working in a Pediatrics office (checked in patients, helped nurses with strep throat tests, logged medical records, prepped rooms before and after, occasionally would shadow pediatrician)
-Medical mission trip to Nicaragua with pediatricians and internists (2 weeks) -- sat with doctors as they evaluated patients and helped translate instructions for patients on how to take their medication
-UCLA Care Extenders -- one year long internship at Ronald Reagan hospital for UCLA undergrads (every premed basically does this) with 4 rotations in different units: adult medicine, ICU, Gonda, PICU --> this volunteer work was basically a lot of clerical work and not a lot of shadowing or exposure

Volunteering/Organizations/Leadership:
-Vice president & Cofounder of "Undergraduate Palliative Care at UCLA" -- a program that is offered at UC Irvine that we brought to UCLA designed to provide premed students with an immersive physician shadowing experience in the palliative care department, since we feel the "shadowing programs" that are currently offered do not really help students
-Secretary and Vice President of Health & Safety (two exec positions) of my fraternity
-Workshops Committee Co-Director for Active Minds at UCLA --> I organized workshops that focus on de-stigmatizing mental health in Greek Life organizations, with an emphasis on LGBTQ issues
-Colleges Against Cancer --> Team Captain for Relay for Life (our team raised $9,000)

Research
-None as of now because I wanted to focus on my grades and clinical experience; however I will probably be helping my uncle at UT Southwestern med school with research in the biostatistics department during the summer before my gap year

Work Experience
-Tutor at Tutor Kids Network
-Gap year: possibly a 1-year position at my high school for alumni to teach one science class with a faculty mentor and get involved with service projects of the school; if not then maybe a medical scribe or patient transporter
