Seeing all these parasit comments reminds me of what a 4th yr told me this semester "parasit will come back to bite you in the a$s" Sighhh I know this is so true lol Anyone doing the zuku daily questions??? So many LA parasite ones!!
 
we had parasit first year too. i overstudied for the final and ended up with an A+ in the class like some kind of overachieving med student or something.

luckily that is not at all the case for this quarter. :meanie:

edit: I'm pretty sure I just missed every single question on the pharm final about antifungals. All of them.

That's awesome. Our parasit is tested so hard that the person with the highest grade in the class wins a scholarship award. I believe we may have had only a handful of As, given the 6-pt grading scale. Ugh.

Ours wasn't too bad because we had weekly lab quizzes that forced us to keep up with the material so it didn't become super overwhelming for the comprehensive lab-lecture combined final.

All I can think of is one of the people in nyanko's test file who can't spell for @#$%. She would have had to take an F in that class if spelling counted. My favorite one is still "stiffel."

and the best part is that even if the word is spelled in the question directly above where she's answering it, she still spells it wrong. idgi

My general rule is if you think the word sounds like it ends in "ea" just make it into "eae" or "aeae," or sometimes "eaeae," and you'll probably be close enough for no one to notice.
 
I'm too lazy to go find a klingon translator, but if you really just did that, I have a whole new found respect for your nerddom, TT.

On a positive note, I passed pharm thanks to the rules of probability, so at least the brain rape was worth it I guess....

Good thing, as I have no more neurotransmitters left to give.

Being locked down for most of yesterday in the vet school located within a stone's throw distance of the "cage" parking lot and trying to study wasn't easy and I don't feel like studying anymore given what occurred, but I think I'm going to try to make it to the vigil even if my Bacteriology exam was moved until tomorrow because some things matter more than school.

Heyyy now! I just woke up and I'm feeling great! I'm preparing for the ugly sweat party at Alpha Psi tonight and then CENTER CITY DANCING!! wooo hoooo!!! And where were u yesterday?? No worries, you should come out tonight!!! I know you have many ugly old man sweaters to wear :laugh:
 
One more week until my finals start. We've got finals on both next Saturday and Sunday. It's going to be rough, I'm sososo behind! And sosososo sick of this semester.

I am le tired....

Yeah, pretty gross. I've never had a final on a weekend before, but I knew Saturday ones existed. Didn't realize that they were allowed to monopolize our ENTIRE weekend (not including studying, of course).

Yep. Happened to me every year. I think the earliest I ever got out was the 21st. 🙁
 
Had my Bacteriology/Mycology lecture and lab final today, but only because the shooting postponed it from yesterday. At least Monday's final is only Radiology. Studying on a Saturday night...
 
Final grades are in and my GPA ended up being a little better than I was expecting. It felt great to check my grades and see I did better in a class than I thought. And I got into the elective I really wanted when I didn't think I would get in. Now I get to spend next semester playing with cows instead of trying to learn more neuro!

got all my grades AND i made the dean's list for the first time of vet school 😀

i know grades aren't everything, yada yada yada but it was a personal accomplishment i'm really excited about...especially since last year i really struggled to even pass some classes. while i'm not saying this semester wasn't a struggle too, i did work my ass off and finally brought my cumulative gpa above a 3.0, another huge accomplishment. i'll drink to that =]

congrats to everyone on being done with third semester!!! 🙂
 
How's second semester treating everyone? Yesterday we finally got to touch a breathing animal inside of class hours again after going all last semester without so much as a tuft of fur (except for what we brought from home).
 
2nd semester has been pretty great so far. A bunch of us have been able to do our first surgeries in the past few weeks. I did my first spay on Tuesday.
 
The Dean's assistant came and talked to us about loan disbursement next year. She reminded us that we will be 4th years starting next April. I had a minor panic attack. Hearing that made it sound so close.

I hadn't really thought about it like that until now...I think I just had a panic attack!

Second semester so far is pretty terribly boring for me. Last semester was rough because of all the exams, but the material was so much more interesting--anesthesia, surgery, hands-on labs...
This semester it's lectures all the time--pretty much the format of "here's a disease, memorize this stuff about it." Not good motivation to study. The one thing I do really enjoy is my elective class--large animal clinical skills. It IS all hands-on labs with cows, horses, and small ruminants. Maybe they give us electives this semester because they know all the back to back lectures would drive us insane. :laugh:
 
I am now officially class of 2015... so see ya suckers.... y'all will be sleep deprived in the real world while I will be toasty warm and happy as a vet student a year longer😛..
