Ugh. Not as well as I wanted. I can do fantastic on the practical part and the written just kills me every time. No clue how I did so bad on it. I think I need to look at my exam.

Still don't know what I got on the written part. It only counts towards 20 points of our actual grade though (or something like that), so I don't particularly see it helping me out too much.

Try dealing with all that stuff on day one of vet school! Not fun let me tell you. It does get better, though, and apparently I'm good at Pathology 😀

It probably will actually. I took that test with a fever too...not nearly as high as the 102 degree one I had for the practical, but oh well.

Really just hoping I don't dislocate a rib from this cough because that will make my next biochem exam on Monday really miserable.


On the plus side, apparently my roommate and I are (well her, since Mowgli the guinea pig is mine) are getting a bunny. We've decided we're naming him Petri.

Smack dab in the middle of five weeks worth of midterms. Trying to study for my microscopic anatomy exam, which is next Thursday. Ironically, I think I may need a microscope to find any motivation I have left about this subject 😉

Pathology talk today, begins with a really enthusiastic: "pathology is literally the study of suffering!"

Last midterm tomorrow morning! So excited to be done with midterms 😀 I get my immunology and physiology grades back tomorrow, too. Physiology will likely ruin my day; I suck at phys 🙁. I just want to pass, I don't think that is asking too much :xf:

Yeah...I'm like refusing to touch Kaufman's lecture...almost done with my study guides for the rest of them though.

And I'm screwed too. My plan is to continue cough so that I dislocate a rib Sunday night or during the test and can either postpone taking it or get out of it and get an A out of pity. Haha.
 
I suck at essay writing. I have to write this essay on the host😛athogen interactions that cause abortion in livestock using an example of one bacteria, one virus and one parasite... I have major writer's block, almost done with the introduction then I just have to make it through each paragraph... one paragraph at a time.

omg.. i have a lot to catch up on on SDN. Just officially finished our last exam... not paying attention to the lecture right now. But yeah, I am NOT dead 🙂 Thanks to those who tried to drag me out of the hole I burrowed into

Very sad that we start REAL classes next week

Yay! Glad to see you are alive! I am leaving SDN today until December so maybe I will catch up with you then. 🙂
 
Funniest intro ever to a class today, but no one else got it lol. I laughed so hard I cried :laugh:.

So we're going over gastrointestinal tract in histology and the professor loads up the powerpoint where we left off. It's a Huge picture of the large intestine and he opens the class by saying We have some unfinished business to take care of 🤣. The people sitting around me either didn't get it or didn't find it funny. I thought it was hilarious.
 
We lost a girl too, but just to the class behind us; poor thing got really sick, and after trying her damndest for a month (dunno how she did it), administration suggested she defer and spend a year taking care of herself.

She'll be the most popular student in 2017. 😉

There are actually two spots now. She's our second one. And a third is thinking of dropping because vet school "isn't for her"

Who dropped? Also, there will be more spots because there always seem to be a few people who repeat first year. We have 5 transfers in 2015

The first girl dropped for medical reasons a week in.
Yeah I think we have 3 or 4 repeats in our class.
 
Took my anatomy test today, and it wasn't horrible... So yay... But it still wasn't great. So we shall see!

Sooo tired, but trying to force myself to study BacT now, but its not working!

I'm at the point where I wish I had a mid Y in this class so I could just 3/4 study for my final Monday. Instead I'm right over the X range which is making my neurotic brain say "you must study your arse off for that X" 🙄

A lot of it I covered in undergrad, so I at least have a little bit of a background which is great, because the professors really gloss over all the steps of the cycles and things like that. Granted, we don't have to know those specifics for the tests (at least not entirely) but it's still an absurd amount of information.

My study guide is also super long because I included a lot of the images from ppts or handouts.
 
So right now I'm excited about this even though I know I'm not going to be happy about it later, but class is cancelled for the next two days, which means I have extra time to study!!!

i don't know what to think. especially since they haven't told us WHEN the exam is going to be. i'm afraid they're going to make us have night classes and saturday classes or something terrible like that 🙁

Hence why I know I'm not going to be happy about this later cause I have no idea how they're going to go about having us make things up either.
 
Survived midterms, so far all passes 😀 I had a horrible Friday and Saturday. Thought I failed phys but my grade was entered wrong; still not an amazing mark but I passed, so relieved. My boyfriend and I are pretty much over and the roommate situation hit a new low (chewed gum and cereal in the kitchen sink for more than a day, refuses to clean it up). Strangely, I feel good today. If my boyfriend wants to go out and party, spend his money on crap, and only be there for me when it's convenient that's fine; he can find someone else who will put up with that. Other roommate and I are talking to problem roommate tomorrow night. Either she follows the house rules without throwing tantrums or she leaves. Period. I'm done with her princess attitude. I don't have the time to baby- sit her. So over everyone's crap 🙄

Sorry Friday and Saturday sucked, but you definitely have the right attitude about the boyfriend and the princess roommate!

One of so many reasons I'm glad I decided to not room with anyone. I might pay about 200 more a month, but it is so worth it!

Just took my BacT midterm... It was crazy. Things I've never even heard of before! But, good news is the entire class feels the same way. Hopefully the curve saves me.

Bleh. I did fine, but pretty sure I'm right on the grade line which is nerve wracking. Depends on his grading I guess. :shrug:
 
Microscopic anatomy exam on Thursday... bleah.

But I get to bring my little dachshund with me for a heart auscultation lab in physiology that day! That'll make it all better 🙂
