Thank you! NECO has always been my top choice because of the early clinical experience in the first few weeks, exposure to diverse populations throughout Boston, and the incredibly friendly/positive atmosphere between both the students and faculty every time I've toured the college.

Should I retake my OAT?
I'd say you still have a chance. The schools themselves may or may not ask you to retake the OAT. I'd plan on retaking it soon and maybe contact the schools about it as well. Hopefully you hear something, good luck! Also, the wait-list isn't the end of it :p

When was your interview with CCO and ICO if you don’t mind me asking.

Thank you! I'm Canadian, so NECO is a lot cheaper than SUNY especially now with the scholarship. Boston is a nice city to live in and the NYC life is just way too hectic for me. I really like NECO's new clinic and everyone just seems so nice and genuinely happy to be there! I'm also set on doing an OD/MSc dual degree, and NECO has some established faculty members whose research matches my interests. The school is just a really good match for me!
You are automatically considered for their entrance scholarship when they give out acceptances, so you don't need to do anything.

CCO was 2 weeks ago and ICO is in the upcoming week. Congrats on your acceptance to CCO! Is that your top choice?
Thanks! ICO is my top choice, but honestly I'll take whatever I get. I am supposed to find out ICO's decision this Friday.

How was your CCO interview! My GPA is pretty identical to yours and I'm a little nervous about that. Especially my science.

It’s actually really relaxed. Its MMI so there’s really no way to prepare. There were a few rooms with a prompt on the door which you get 2-3 minutes to read and think about. Then you enter the room and speak to the interviewer about it for 5 minutes. The interviewers make you feel relaxed and comfortable. Also since there are like 10 other students with you there, the anxiety goes away as you start talking. There was a written prompt too so we had to write an impromptu essay pretty much; but it wasn’t bad at all and you get a lot of time. Overall it was a good experience.

Hi! I've got interviews at both NECO and SUNY next week and I was hoping you could maybe tell me a little about how they went. I would really appreciate it!
Both interviews were very laid back and there's nothing to worry about. Just be sure to be able to explain why optometry, why this school and everything you put on your CV that show you are a strong candidate. Relax and have fun on interview days!

Yes, on paper NECO and PCO are better, but my experience at MCPHS was where I felt I would personally be the most academically successful. It was a tough decision that came down to a gut feeling in all honesty.

Hey. It's just as the others have said before it's a super laidback interview although there will be three people there. They only asked me the most basic questions. They don't ask any trick questions so don't worry. It was more of a conversation than an interview. I actually really enjoyed talking to the professors and the half hour just flew by. Best of luck!

Canadian student here so financial considerations are definitely important. Received scholarships at all three schools so feel free to hmu if you're curious about my application/general questions! I adored SUNY but the tuition is insanely expensive for a foreign student. Still debating and not sure where to go yet!

Canadian student here so financial considerations are definitely important. Received scholarships at all three schools so feel free to hmu if you're curious about my application/general questions! I adored SUNY but the tuition is insanely expensive for a foreign student. Still debating and not sure where to go yet!
Any idea why Waterloo rejected you? You seem to have good stats??

Haha I can never know for certain, but it probably has to do with the fact that I wasn’t taking a full course load for a couple of semesters due to some personal issues.

How did you receive your acceptance? Letter or email?

Has anyone had an interview at MCPHS?

I just had one last weekend. I sent my application around the 13th of November. They got back to me in 2 weeks right after Thanksgiving. I had my interview on Dec. 9th, now I am waiting to hear back from them. I had to look onto the portal that they have portal.msphs.edu to see that I was ready to schedule my interview. They didn't tell me through an email. So I would check on that site to see if it says your ready to schedule.
