So, if you edit your personal statement after submitting, do they see the old personal statement? is each edit sent as a new statement that they can see? Of course, after submitting and reviewing everything a million times i noticed a typo and edited it. But if this happens again, are they just going to keep getting copies of my PS or will they just see the most updated one? @NotAProgDirector?

My third surgery letter writer is currently ghosting me. I just sent a hail mary to a surgeon I worked with back in January because I don't know what else to do. I should have done this weeks ago! Don't agree to write a letter for me if you don't care enough to do it!

Scroll up. I think this was asked and answered before. They will see that you changed it but won’t know what the old one said unless they printed it .

Quick question. If I took time off for a medical issue that went undiagnosed. Should I start up say I had X disease that was undiagnosed? I feel like being vague about the issue just make people think it was a mental health issue. And sadly I know programs would hold that against you.

I feel like you can be vague about it and say something like "I had an undiagnosed kidney issue" (or whatever organ) if you're concerned people will assume it's a mental health issue but you would like to maintain some degree of privacy about your health

If you edit it before ERAS even opens, no one will ever know. If you edit it after ERAS opens, most likely no one will ever````````````` 98ce

Did you guys include post-bacc credits taken?

I put my undergraduate degree but I did take some credits in organic chemistry after graduation. Does this matter at all?

I feel like by including it it just looks messy and is largely irrelevant.

Think it looks irrelevant. Maybe if u did a masters/ earn a degree that aided u to get into medical school then i would add that.

Is it a big deal if I dont have IM SubI grade on my transcript for eras? I have a letter from my subI though and my performance on the SubI is mentioned in the letter is this good enough?

I have the same issue. My audition ended almost a month ago and I still haven't gotten an eval for it. I'm not sure if the PD is even aware it was sent to her. I'm not bringing it up until after the 29th in case I get a bad comment for some reason.

I can't certify and submit because it says I left a required field unfilled under the education tab. Any help?

I inluded my summer of ochem. took it at a local univeristy so figured it cant hurt and if anything would show more "ties to the community" yadda yadda

You left something blank. I assume that if you go back and look, it should be clear what it was. If not, then you'll need to call the ERAS help desk on Monday. WOuld have been better if it wasn't so close to the deadline, but it is what it is.

if a program says 3 LOR's(not max 3) but just "requires 3 LOR's", can you send 4? Also, if Department Letter requirement is not mentioned, should I skip that and replace that with another letter from another preceptor because I'm assuming the Department Letter is generic. This is for IM.

Can I submit before uploading my photo? Finished with everything but want to get the pic touched up.

General consensus is yes. There are always differing opinions but people have done both and been fine.

Yes.

oof got accepted to two extra curriculars after already certifying. Hope I get a chance to bring them up during interiews, they relate back to stuff I talked about in my PS

My backup came through for me! Bless attendings who care enough about students to help them out at the last minute 🙏

Done. Everything assigned....EXCEPT MY F***ING SCHOOLS DOM LETTER G** D*****IT. Seriously. They had one job...so much anxiety now knowing it's just about waiting.

Finally got one of my SLOEs uploaded today but they sure brought it down to the wire. I needed at least one by Wednesday so definitely a weight off my shoulders. Now I can just politely pester the other program I auditioned at to get theirs in.

I got awarded a random scholarship in med school but the description of the scholarship just says it's for students from Colorado. I am not from Colorado. Do I list it in Medical School Honors/Awards without any explanation? Or leave it off?

I just listed the titles of my scholarships, no explanations

In that case, use the 3 strong psych letters at all, and then add gen surg letter to some, and hospitalist letter to others. That’s what I did when I had extra letters I wasn’t sure about.
That's what I ended up doing, thank you.

I also sent 4 letters to all programs... I thought I'd be able to un-assign some before they can see apps but it looks like that's not the case. Oops. Hope that doesn't hurt too much

I just paid & applied on ERAS... Been certified for weeks though. I've also had my Comlex status authorized for weeks. Why then does it just say that my Comlex status report is now processing? Will my Comlex scores take a few days to be available to programs or will I be okay by Sept 29 morning of?

No mass freezing/crashing of ERAS so far. Was this a med school Y2K glitch event?

I submitted my PS to programs but I decided to change some parts of it. Would programs see my original PS or the updated version?

Scroll up. Asked and answered. They will see that you changed your personal statement but will have no idea what changes were made.

It didn’t process because you didn’t pay yet.

it should only take minutes.

Yes you can apply to multiple at one program, very common for specialties that have both a research track and regular track as well
How do you assign separate personal statements to the research and general/regular track at the same program?

Anyone not personalize any PS? Applying FM and hoping it doesn't really matter.

how bad is it if i dual apply, and my backup/less competitive field app i am using a research letter from my more competitive field? otherwise have two letters from ais in the backup field

They should be listed as separate programs for purposes of LOR and statement assignments. They have their own NRMP codes, etc. Its like applying to two places.
