Seems mean but maybe if there were treats involved...

Yeah I will definitely do that if I decide to use their place. Just would honestly rather be home but am worried about looking "unprofessional".

Major bummer - just found that my score/ photo weren't assigned to my application. Do I email all programs or what?

I actually don't refresh since my email to text forwarding has been working out so well! Especially with an apple watch. I have 3 EM interviews as well, sounds like most of us are in the same boat! Hopefully we get a huge wave next week

I hope so. I’ve been hearing rumors that the 11th may be a busy day, but who really knows?

Honestly wish I were home playing video games. Recently been playing No Man’s Sky and it is fantastic.

Also applying EM and currently have 4 interviews with 2 being at programs I auditioned with. Definitely hoping for a big wave next week!

This. Apple watch was worth the investment just based on my experience with ERAS alone.

Having 2 DR is pretty good! As far as rads goes, I’m sitting at zero DR and one IR from an audition. It’s driving me bonkers.

If the reddit spreadsheet is honest, only 30 ish percent of programs have sent any iis at all, and a lot of those that have, have only sent one wave. We’re still good… I hope. :dead:

I sure hope so. A bunch of the programs that have released are also from the south, where I didn’t apply at all.
 
This game of grabbing an interview before they're gone is madness and makes me lose any respect for the program. I received a few interviews yesterday, all of them but 1 simply offered me a few date options and let me choose one with zero hassle, or just asked me if x date would work. The last one provided 30 dates/waitlist spots total and they were all gone within 2 minutes of me getting the email. I had to just schedule a spot without any idea if it would fit into my schedule because I didn't have time to verify it would work. Any program that pulls this crap immediately goes to the bottom of my interest list.

I heard that everyone who doesn’t know what’s happening on the 11th will have their ERAS discarded, their credit card charged 3x their application cost and receive a personalized email from their dream program’s PD telling them to enjoy SOAPing into pre-lim spots in South Dakota.

Is working on your car listed as a hobby on ERAS? If so 100% bring this instance up when discussing. Nothing says I love your program like tar & feathering your cell phone for a spot.

Programs don't care if you need to reschedule, right? As long as your desired date is free and it's before the freeze date or whatever? Or is this frowned upon?
 
When do we register for the actual match....like NRMP?

there's a spot to add your NRMP ID in the personal info section. No idea if it shows anything different on the program end.

According to the reddit spreadsheet it seems like most neuro invites are going to super stars with 240-250+ step scores. I guess that was expected with everything virtual.

Edit: At this rate I'd be lucky to even match at one of the places I auditioned at.

I think this is pretty common for the first week. No way all programs can just interview 250's and expect to fill
 
Is anyone getting interviews to regions/states they have no ties too or are most just going to regional applicants?

1. Do yourself a favor and stop looking at the spreadsheets. Go do something relaxing instead lol
2. Just because >50% of programs have sent out interviews doesn't mean all the interviews are gone. They literally got our apps only a little over a week ago.

I'm from the midwest and go to school in the midwest and got one in a southern state this week. But at least for EM, it seems to be mostly home students and auditioners followed by those with regional ties right now.
 
I've had 3 regional invites, one on the opposite coast as me. One invite was my home, another one I signaled for IM. Still internally freaking out for some reason, despite the fact I know i have no reason to freak out.

My first few were mostly regional. This week I started getting a few more to places I have no ties to

I'll try, but with this process it's so hard to not freak out. I've heard some programs have filled out all their dates on the first or second waves of invites. Like are they going to open up more dates or is this really it for these programs? And if this is it, should I just panic and start sending LOIs everywhere before all spots run out. At the same time, I don't wanna look desperate to PDs. :bang:

Of the 2 invites I've gotten so far, one was regional and the other not regional, but I do have some ties to the state based on demographics.

I’m completely all over the place right now geographically. Some in areas I have ties to (home state/undergrad/gap years) but I’ve got one that’s completely out of the blue. My home program hasn’t even sent me an invite lol. But I’m applying to a specialty with a lot fewer programs (only two in my state) so this was more expected.
 
For those of you who wrote separate PS for each program (or least included some personal notes like connections, did research there etc), did you also send the PD/PC an email to reinforce that or do you just assume they would catch it in your PS? I am getting mixed answers to write a separate paragraph for each program's PS to indicate "why us", versus an email to each program after ERAS submission while begging for an interview.
 
So this is a really dumb question, which I think I know the answer to but just want to confirm. Say you dual apply and have 2 specialties, one has a 95% match rate at 10 ranks, the other with 15. If you were to rank 15 with a mix of each, your overall chance to match would still be around 95% correct?

You'd probably need to rank 25 to still be at 95% for both.

I wrote personalized PS's. I would *not* email PDs right after ERAS submission. That seems desperate and quite frankly getting emails from applicants when apps first go out and they're trying to sort through 1000s of them seems like a bad idea.
