This thread will be a mix of happiness and depression by 5 pm on December 1st lol
All I know is that being my third year applying I'm on pins and needles. My most hated question is what my plan B is; I've already applied 3 times, what makes you think the plan will be any different?? December 1st will be a huge day for me, hoping it means no more applications until I decide if I want to specialize!

Where I work, the dentist keeps reminding me of our countdown every time I walk in to the office. My freak out is so real right now that we are pretty much 2 weeks away! Is this even real life?

TWO WEEKS.
Lol at this point I feel like other people care more than me....my dad woke me up this morning by saying "two more weeks until you find out about your future" smh makes me regret telling everyone about the Dec 1 date cause theyre making me more anxious lol I had resigned myself to thinking that whatever is best will happen
lol yeah now I kind of wish that only me and my family knew because I know everyone will be bombarding me with questions on the 1st and that will stress me out if I hadn't heard anything yet
Same. Now I'm just telling people that I have "until April" to find out so that gives me some room in case December 1st is a bust. So stressful.
I've started saying, 'December 1st is the soonest I could hear back but I might not hear until August.' The responses are usually a mixture of shared angst and pity, but they stop asking after that!

Haha for real. My nervousness started when I discovered this threat. Now I must suffer for 14 more days.
Couldn't sleep for a couple hours last night dissecting how bad my interview went LOL, this post ain't helping...

Keep your head up! Don't dwell on what might have gone wrong and just try to stay positive.
6+ and still nervous. What I keep telling myself is:
1) Our fates have pretty much been decided by now and it's out of our hands at this point.
2) Everyone ends up going where they're meant to go, even if they don't find out 12/1.
Whether the above are true or not, I think it's comforting to believe in those two statements 🙂 Best of luck to everyone! Wishing you all the best in a couple weeks.

I completely agree! Also, it seemed that everyone at my interviews felt like everything went well, so I have no idea how it actually went.

I think I spend an average of 5 hours on SDN a day.. This can't be healthy lol
I would just say that a lot of our interviews were early in the cycle. They're probably taking a higher proportion of people so it would make sense that many interviews are seen as favoribly-- the school is trying to make the candidates they like most feel welcome. Moreover, there are those who don't have successful interviews and just not talk about it. Take away the aninomity of sdn and you get a lot of people trying to save face.
The whole interview process is to screen out people who lack people skills. If you have issues holding a conversation, making eye contact, and coming off as genuine, the interview will make that known. Having any interviews at this point is a great start, as I have known plenty of current dental students who received their interview invitations in January and February. Like several individuals have mentioned already, December 1st is just the beginning. Those who have an interview at this point are seen as highly qualified applicants. Even having 1 interview is great because you only need 1 acceptance. We’re almost there! 
Yea people have already noticed a difference in me and they are going to be staying clear of me that week before. LOL.. And to top it off I have an interview 11/29..LOL, hopefully that will keep my mind off of everything ....
I know this process is extremely taxing, but I just want y’all to know it will work out just fine. Whenever I catch myself freaking out about December 1st, I remember my friends from last cycle who got into the perfect schools for their personal situations several months AFTER December 1st. Were they freaking out before they got accepted? Sure. That being said, they couldn’t be happier now.
That's good that you will have that interview to kind of keep your mind occupied! Good Luck! how cool would it be if you interviewed and then got an acceptance 2 days later?!
I've been freaking out about dec 1 but reading through this thread makes me a little more relieved that at least i'm not alone!
Okay actually i take that back, i'm freaking out even more! I know a lot of people get accepted AFTER dec 1 but I definitely will be freaking out if im not accepted dec 1 🙁

I can't sleep, i can't eat, I cant believe my future will be decided in less than 11 days! This is such a long daunting process and so nerve wrecking!!! OMG, I am thinking about taking dec 1st off work just to budget the cry time in case i don't hear back from any schools!

Although it’s nerve wrecking to countdown to December 1st, it’s an honor to have had an interview pre-December, even if it was only one. I’m sure chances of being accepted aren’t high since I’ve only interviewed at one school but hopes are still very high!
If any one knows, when do most schools send out post-dec invites? Have they already started or they begin sending those after December 1st?
