CSU 2024-2025 (c/o 2029 hopefuls)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I cannot find alot of information of that tbh. But I would assume maybe 25-50 people? since it's not a guarantee you get into the DVM program, I'm sure they want to keep numbers low incase everyone DOES maintain a 3.0 and matriculate into the next class. (Plus with the in-state tuition you get through being domicile).
Thank you! Maybe we will be classmates 🙂

When does CSU typically send out acceptances/rejections for OOS applicants? Is it usually around mid-January?

Hi everyone! I know waiting for decisions is agonizing so hang in there. I’m currently a 4th year student at CSU (only 153 days till graduation but who’s counting?) and I also did my undergrad at CSU. I’m more than happy to help answer any lingering questions you may have.

Thanks. Do you recall when notifications went out in prior years? I'm sure we would welcome a week of less stress and anxiety. 🤣

Does anyone know the number of OOS students that they usually admit? I couldn't find it on their website

For those who applied last year for any sort of dual degree or dual program, if you got rejected from both, did you receive 2 rejection letters or just one? I applied for the MPH/DVM and the form last year says they got the rejection from DVM first and then short after a decision for their dual (alaska/colorado, mph/dvm etc). Is this true?

Yep! You should get the regular dvm decision first if it’s the same set up. Also last year people who were waitlisted / accepted to a dual program had seen something change about their portal before decisions came out. It had said something about sending further transcripts.

What would I do without you? !! thank you 🙂

Does anyone know how competitive/good the Alaska program is? I didn't apply to CSU this cycle but living in Alaska for two years sounds nice

I was just abt to post someone I know w connections to csu said their timeline is later this year more mid-late Jan
That's what I thought. All of their information on their website and the supplemental page says mid to late Jan..... I was wondering where everyone else got this info that it was next week???

I think just because in the past they have released decisions first week of January. Wishful thinking lol

Traditionally every other year it’s been first week of January. Somehow this cycle most schools seem more burdened than usual with # of applications, hence most deadlines are pushed further. It doesn’t surprise me for CSU, as they received about 4,000 applications last year I’m sure it’s more as every year it is

Did they reach out to anyone about missing requirements? Or will we automatically be rejected if we missed something

If you were missing something, they would have reached out already with a rejection unless the pre-req is in progress. My friend was rejected early October last year due to missing a pre-req she didn't know she had to take.

Happy NYE everyone! For vet prep acceptance, I understand that we should expect a denial from CSU initially, and then we will receive a letter regarding VP if we are not accepted into CSU. Does the VP acceptance/waitlist/denial letter get delivered on the same day, around the same time as the CSU rejection letter?

For the MPH/DVM program, do we get a denial from the regular program first?

Some people received denials from the regular pool first, and then received acceptances to the dual programs or Vet prep. Others just got straight acceptances to the dual programs and Vet prep.

However, if you are denied from both, you will receive rejections from both

Some schools aren’t super accurate, it says arizona will only accept 45 students?? Hm
Yea it says 45 but I think it might just be an error for that number because it does have the individual numbers for both resident and nonresident. Its from VMSAR, so it's the most credible source I could find...

Valid! I just thought it was odd haha

I don’t trust most sources not coming from the individual school itself. Many things even coming from AVMA websites are completely inaccurate. It’s unfortunate but there’s truly no single source that has all the information in one place :/

here’s to hoping for tomorrow…fingers crossed 🤞🏼
I feel like it will be tomorrow too!! Hoping to be classmates! Since some of us selected a dual program or vet prep, I am hoping that we get an update on those programs tomorrow as well 😎 it seems as if all updates are provided on the same day.
