So, CSU has updated their portal to include materials received. For those of you who applied to CSU, are your transcripts showing up? None of mine are, so I was just curious.

"Transcripts – Only offered and alternate candidates will be required to mail one
official transcript from each university attended (to include fall semester 2010 –
if fall courses were taken). Do not submit transcripts with your application."

Quoted directly from the CSU Materials Checklist...

Oh, what an idiot! After sending 7 transcripts to all of the other schools, I completely forgot that I didn't have to do that with CSU. Sheesh! Sorry about that. :smack:

LivestockDoc, I did the same thing! Even though I knew (somewhere in my head...) that I didn't send transcripts to Colorado, I still had a moment of panic when I saw that the portal didn't list my transcripts...

I probably double checked that a dozen times (dodeca-checked?) because it's the -only- school I applied to that didn't require it (and it seems so weird not to!).

I agree, I had a moment of panic when I was going down my checklist, and "realized" that I had forgotten to write down (and thusly send) transcripts for CSU.

Does anyone know exactly what will be posted under the Admission Status History? Also, if anyone has any more information on how CSU's phases work, I would really appreciate it. It is a little confusing, even after reading their online information.

Has anyone heard back on Phase II decisions? There's announcement that they've been posted, but I don't see any update to my "combined program review - evaluation pending" status. I am honestly not quite prepared to find out this soon, so I'm kind of hoping the announcement is a mistake. Would like a few more days/weeks of hope before knowing for sure!

I didnt think Phase two was to be finished till mid nov-dec? *runs to CSU portal*

I got my phase two decision! I have under a 3.2 so they reviewed my app. early and the portal said my application was reviewed and has been forwarded to regular admissions... so I have 3 months until I hear anything else since I'm a WICHE applicant. It made me really happy to see that on the screen but I'm not going to get my hopes up too high yet.

I just checked the portal, and I too have just been dumped in to the vat with all the smarter people. Yay!

Mine just says "Your application evaluation is pending in the regular admissions process at this time."

Does this mean I'm in Phase II?

I applied last year, and was waitlisted..🙁 However, I do know a few things about the admissions portal. Last year, deny/offer/waitlist statuses for in-state students was posted on December 28th (I believe- I remember it being a few days after Christmas but before New Year's). Until that time, nothing about your "current" admissions status and your "admissions status history" will be different. If you made it past Phase II (where they review applications submitted by those with a GPA less than 3.2) the text will simply be "your application is pending in the regular admissions pool at this time" (or something like that). Once they send out offers at the end of December, that's when your admissions status will change, both in the history and the current status. The history will indicate that you were pending in the regular pool, then it will give the date of offer/deny/waitlist, and say that your status changed. (If you are waitlisted, it becomes almost impossible to not obsessively check the portal every 5 minutes to see if you were given a space, at least until April 15th when the acceptance deadline is.)

From what I know of the phases:
Phase I: Applications are sorted into "complete" and "incomplete". Applications that are missing information (ex: GRE scores, Letters of Rec, self-reported grades, residency, etc) or fees (ie. CSA or VMCAS fees were not paid/submitted) are taken out of the admissions pool.
Phase IIa: Applications are sorted into "Those with cumulative GPA Lower than 3.2" and "Everyone else". The applications with a GPA lower than 3.2 are reviewed and either continue on into the regular application pool or are notified of deny. (If you have a GPA of 3.2 and DO NOT have a deny status at this time, relax, you made it 🙂
Phase IIb: Applications for combined programs (ex: MPH/DVM, PhD/DVM) are reviewed completely. These applicants will find out closer to November 1 (according to the announcements) if they have been offered/deny/waitlisted.
Phase III: Everyone who made it (with the exception of combined program applicants) is reviewed during the end of November through the end of December. From what I gathered with talking to people, the applications are split in half, and an initial reviewer looks over ALL of one half while another looks at the other half, and shaves down the list (I don't know what criteria they use). The applicants who make it from this point on are reviewed by at least 2 other people, with the final numbers being about 100 in-state apps left and ? out-of state. The applications are ranked, with the first 75/76 in the in-state ranking being offered a position, and the remaining 24/25 making the waitlist. For WICHE and non-sponsered apps, the number of students admitted varies by year, so it's impossible to guess how this year will go. The decisions should be posted on the portal in the end of December (Unless you are WICHE, in which case you will find out in January).

Sorry the response is so long...

At least last year, combined programs candidates who were not admitted to the combined program were then forwarded on to phase III as well.

Here's what I've been told: of the 75 IS spots, 25 are reserved for dual degree. If you're just wanting a DVM, you're competing for a spot out of 50, not 75. 🙁

I sure hope I misunderstood, but it sounded depressingly straightforward at the time.

That sounds about right. Do you know if that 25 included VetStart and VetPrep people?

That is not the impression I got. Sounded like the 25 was just for the dual programs.

Yep, Phase 3 is well under way. I know this because I got my official 'rejection' posting for the MPH/DVM program with the 'consolation' paragraph stating that I would be automatically placed into the pool for Phase 3. Needless to say I'm not all that hopeful. 🙁

Best of luck to the rest of ya!! :luck:

Just got "unofficial" word that I'm accepted into the MBA/DVM program! Ecstatic!

That's awesome, Hopeful Ram! (Sounds like it's time to change to Definite Ram.) I spoke to a couple of people in the program last year. They were really enjoying it.
