Hey everyone!
Name is Blaine and a little history about me. I am a Registered Nurse with almost 3 years of experience in the ER. I love love love nursing, but have always wanted to become a Dr. and embrace a higher calling. I love medicine and more importantly love helping people. I considered the NP route and if the DO doesn't work out I will move forward with plan B. I am still a few semesters out from applying but have been gathering information. Some stats about me are I have a 3.2Cgpa, a 3.5Sgpa, and haven't taken the MCAT yet but for the sake of this post i'll "assume" i make a 517. I have 7 years experience in the United States Air Force as a special operation C130 mechanic and countless hours volunteering and shadowing along with work as an RN. I plan to apply to Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and would love to know my odds with the stats I have listed above. For reference only of course, if anyone has had any good luck with stats like mine please let me know! I have ruled out M.D at this moment due to my lower end gpa but i am still interested in D.O.

I realize that but just curious to see if anyone here has anything similar to that. Never hurts to ask.

Yeah, if you get a 517 you will almost certainly get an interview.

Depending on your age and specialty goals, if you do score that high it might be worth doing GPA repair and applying MD.

But.... I’m going to be square with you, most students with 3.2 GPA don’t get a 517 MCAT.

My 3.2 stems from my first 2 semesters several years back when I, 1. didn't take school as serious as I do now and 2. was stationed overseas and ended up deploying mid semester and failed 3 classes. I made straight A's for the past 2 years as well as all through nursing school. I'm hoping that's shows a decent uptrend for them.

yet but for the sake of this post i'll "assume" i make a 517.

This is what we call "magical thinking," especially since vocational degrees "ie nursing" tend to perform lower on average than other test taking pools. Not to say that will be you, but saying "assuming I get a 517" would be like me saying, "assuming I get a 285 on Step 2." It's just probably not going to happen.

Get an MCAT score and we can advise, your app looks like it will be more solid than you think. Just get a decent MCAT score.

It is likely you would receive an interview here with those stats, but I do know of applicants with stats like that who did not receive an interview in the previous cycle.

Interview/acceptance rate is about 50%, including waitlist offers.
