you're a good guy for not double dipping. I already interviewed here, but i know a lot of people that would have attended anyway just to test their luck, its great of you to give others an opportunity. Congratulations and good luck in your program! that is really awesome!

Before you can log in to Portal and do the whole "Forgot your password" thing, must your application be "Processed" in Banner? I submitted mine closer to the deadline date and it only said "Submitted"; now it has disappeared and just gives me the option of making a new application (which I've read is normal).

So yeah... before logging into Portal, must I wait for my app to be "processed"?
 
So, turns out I actually got an interview invite via Bannerweb! It ended up showing up in the wee hours of Monday morning. It's weird because it says the "Date Created" for the decision was April 24th 2015. But, when I checked on Friday, it said "No decision has been made" when I clicked "View your decision."

Maybe they had some weird server issues or something. Sure freaked me out all weekend. Guess learning how to be patient was worth it! (I have such a long way to go with patience. God must be testing me haha)

Anyways, I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else! It stinks being in that weird limbo. Congrats to everyone that received interviews in the second batch, and good luck to those still waiting and doing their interviews this week! I hope we get our official interview emails soon!!!

Edit: Marked complete 3/27, Interview invite 4/27 (technically 4/24)

I think this is normal for everyone. Depending on if your application has been marked complete, you should be able to see the status on the portal. I would suggest logging on to see if it shows up.

No, I have not. I think we all have to wait to get the official interview email to schedule it. People that already interviewed said they got the email several days after the portal updated. I don't think any of us in this most recent batch has gotten that email yet. But it shall come soon.

I believe I submitted around April 17th maybe on that date in fact.

Not so sure about it. My app was complete late February and yesterday was the first time I checked it through the "portal" and not the "banner". I never saw anything under "processed" on the banner.

I was not aware of this either. Thank you! For a while I wondered what was going on with my application and just checked the portal. It says that my app is incomplete, I am missing that one LOR, still. But I know they received it.
I believe I read previous posts people said they received II although their app was marked incomplete on the portal.
Any recommendations? My last LOR was in April 20th but I still have not gotten a complete email.

This is a situation in which I would suggest calling and actually speaking to someone. It would be unfortunate to find out that for one reason or another that the LOR hasn't been accounted for. I would also suggest making sure that you have some type of written acknowledgment that the LOR was indeed received.. if this has all been done then I think you're just fine, they prob just haven't gotten through processing that final LOR since it was in close to the deadline

I called today to get more info on interview scheduling. I told the office assistant that I'm coming from California so i'd like to reserve plane tickets ASAP...she completely understood and told me the director was in half day today, but she could help me tomorrow with dates. I don't know if this means we all get emails tomorrow, or what...but I'll be calling back to get more info during their office hours as instructed
 
Typically how long does it take for them to reply to emails? I've received no correspondence since submitting my app and materials last week =\ emailed them to see if they've received everything and so far crickets

I'm pretty sure they are just VERY busy. I was told they receive about 600 applications, majority of them complete by the deadline, they then go through them and select applicants for interviews. The first round of interviews was 40 invites and the second round will be 30-60... So they're probably just going through applications at this point and conducting interviews. You should receive an email saying your application is complete, but you can always try to call like stated above to check the status.

On my banner it says I'm invited, but the portal says I am under review. Is this the same for everyone else? What if I got myself excited for no reason 🙁

Where did you get these info from? I thought there will be at least a few rounds of interview invites throughout these next few weeks...

I share your anxiety. In my slight obsession I checked back earlier in the thread to the responses of people that got interviews in mid-April before the deadline. There was a 6 day (4 business days) difference between the time people saw it on the portal and receiving an email to schedule it (assuming they posted on the days they saw these things, of course). We have only been waiting two business days. I think everything is okay, but I feel you.

Additionally, my portal still says my application is incomplete as does the banner (all my materials are in) but I still got invited for an interview. I think updating the portals has taken a backseat to interviewing and such. Hopefully this quells your worries a bit.

On 4/6/15, I received my complete email: "Your application to the Drexel Pathway to Medicine program is now complete and will be forwarded to the admissions committee for review. Interview invites are not sent out until after the application deadline date of April 24, 2015."

On the portal (https://discover.drexel.edu/), it says "Thank you for your application. Your file is currently complete and under review. A decision has not yet been made regarding your admission status to Drexel University. If additional materials are required before an admission decision can be rendered, we will contact you."

But on bannerweb (https://banner.drexel.edu/pls/duprod/bwskalog.P_disploginnon), there's literally nothing there. Sorry to sort of just interrupt the conversation, but is anyone else in this situation? Just want to make sure I'm not completely messing up somewhere. Thanks in advance!

I'm so nervous. Once we get the email I'll feel more at ease about it.

Does your portal say something about an interview or does it just say you are complete and under review?

That's what I was told during my interview. Now, I'm not sure if within that "second round" how and when they notify people, maybe only so many people a week but the first round was 40 invites. I was told they will interview a total of 75-100 and will take about 35 but they're not 100% sure on that number. According to last years posts, the "second round" was over a 2-3 week period.

I saw my interview invite for about a week and a half before I actually got the invite, personally. I don't know others experiences. When I called and asked about it, they told me I had to wait for the email.

Yes, mine is like that too! I applied to the regular MD program and that's the only one that shows on the banner. Ahhh the suspense is intense! I guess we just have to remember that IF we are lucky enough to get an interview and get in this will be the opportunity of a lifetime! Even if they notify me the day before the program starts - I'll walk there if I have to! 🙂

I am pretty sure @DocHippie is correct about the numbers as this was also told to us on my interview day as well. Although I think acceptances are going to be closer to 40-45 from what I remember. They will interview 75-100 and the first 3 days of interviews was about 20 people, there were 3 more interview dates left for the first batch: yesterday, today, and Friday..so Im pretty sure that 40 invites in the first batch is not too far off, which means 35-60 left for the remaining which will prob be anytime between May 5th - May 27th (May 28th is final committee meeting), interviews are held Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays only.

@kf014 don't worry that you haven't gotten the email. You have received the interview, they just prob aren't sure of dates as of yet as there are still interviews being conducted from the first group. Everyone who got their banner page updated to show an interview eventually received the email. I know how you feel because I was skeptical myself, but just be patient (I know easier said than done.lol)

disclaimer: this is all information deduced from information from the school, the only way to confirm is with someone in admission, but I hope this info is a little bit useful.

Congrats on MAMS! I applied there as well and was wondering if you could explain a little bit about why you decided on BU?
 
(1) Boston. I am the type of person to work with opportunities presented to me. All I need is a chance to succeed, and I'll find my way. I don't need a guarantee. I have until May 4th to accept, and I dont want to risk losing BU on the off chance I get Drexel. (2) Due to my verbal score, Drexel and BU both would've required me to retake the MCAT. (3) Classes start June for Drexel while BU would be September. UCLA Summer session A finished around August 3rd. I could try to fly out and take my exams (since the course is podcasted) but it is a hassle. (4) Flying would cost $600 and I dont have the budget to fly out unless I find a way to pay for it. I dont think the risk/rewards outweigh the cost.

Lol...agreed...i'm assuming its not really a numbers game post interview since we all have a numerical weakness somewhere...means the interview is really important/a great opportunity ...good luck to everybody

I am in almost the exact same boat! However my MCAT is borderline. Traveling is not an issue because Im literally in the middle of both cities (NYC). If I am accepted into track 1, i.e I will have to retake my MCATs for DPMS, I will most likely make the same decision as you. Congrats on your decision nonetheless!
