There are dragons, but they may not necessarily be players. Depending, it would be bad that anytime a dragon dies their person dies and vice versa.

In my hold's discussion, I said N1 that we should withhold tithing ... I wanted to find out sooner in the game rather than later what happens. But the group didn't go for it. I still think it might be a good idea to find out, but.... it obviously carries an unknown risk.

It sounds like the Tillek Hold didn't tithe N1 anyway. Not sure we will see consequences unless the thread is actively falling. If we think the abilities get passed onto others though, I wonder if it still works if not every group tithes?

Not necessarily. It may just be that not every character's partner was assigned to a player in our game. There are a lot of characters in the books, and there may have been roles that weren't assigned, but were ready in the wings if more than 32 players had shown up.

A "supreme vote"? Can you GET any more passive-aggressive?

Not worth my time to discuss with you. Your default mode seems to be to interpret as negatively as possible, so there is likely very little to be gained.
 
I can confirm that no one in my hold tithed N1 due to lack of discussion. Jil and I both checked in, but no one else did until later. Last night was the first time we tithed.

The ability thief is not restricted to using their ability on one hold. I was targeted last night, but was told that they couldn't enter my hold (I think as a result of our tithing?). I'm thinking that Guis and MQ both being targeted for kills doesn't have anything to do with them being in the same group.

You think that not tithing kept out the ability thief? Seems unlikely. Maybe someone else's ability protected you?

Interesting. The reason it didn't work on me was different. Out of curiousity, were you the one in your group who tithed last night?

No. I won't say who did tithe unless they want to reveal it themselves, but it wasn't me. Someone else in the hold reported receiving a similar message, so it seems it affected everyone.


It's possible that some people's tithes might be more powerful than others. More powerful abilities have more powerful results, etc . . . And since the same person can't tithe every night, that provides a sort of balance check so that one hold doesn't have indefinite protection. Although there could definitely be other reasons for the EOD rule.

I would like to hear more from the quiet folks. I don't like to suspect people based on that, especially since just about everyone is quiet compared to my loudmouth. =) But I can't deny that if I were playing a wolf, I'd likely be clammed right up. Is anyone quiet who is usually chatty?

I don't think this is all of it. Like I said earlier, we had 28 players alive last cycle but a lynch tally out of 27. And STL didn't vote, but when the mods listed the players missing votes, he wasn't on the list.

Thoughts? I still think it's a possibility. Now we know PBC was almost robbed last night and also wasn't planning to tithe. I mean, there's still a good chance that the person they choose didn't tithe just based on numbers but I'm inclined to think there would be a wolf in the groups who know who tithed and who didn't. Now that I've said this, they may change strategy and even may have last night, but I'm still suspicious of my group and now PBC's as well. As for who in my group, no clue. We've had very conversation and still missing input from SOV.

Even better, Dragons commit suicide by entering a void between times and places. Could that be the bit with STL. Taken out of existence completely? Or is that a bit far fetched?

See the posts after. Hmm? I don't know which way to take that then. If STL is NPC but was listed as a player or... I don't know yet. Something to watch.
 
I like all the theories on tithing. I guess I was a bit attached to the idea that they were being distributed to players currently. But if they are being used basically as a "Hold effect" and which abilities are offered as tithes matter, or even if they are being banked for later, both change my ideas as to who it is good to get to tithe and when.
I would love to figure this whole thing out sooner rather than later so we can most efficiency figure out what to do with tithe rotations and all that.

Ok. Well I'm not seeing (nor do I have) any damning evidence.

I have an ICU shift in an hour and won't be done until 9:30pst.

My reasoning is only that her name has been brought up several times and she has not said a thing in defense.

I will TRY to check in periodically but it just depends on how crazy we get.
 
My understanding of the kata lynch is because she is too quiet and has just posted that she is busy and that is suspect.

With PBC the reasoning is that her Hold voted to tithe, she was supposed to and chose not to. I think that is more suspicious so my vote will go there.

Please correct me if I am missing or misunderstanding something. Days home with the kids are too distracting.

You read that wrong---PBC didn't say she reneged her tithe, she said she wasn't the person in her group who was supposed to.

my guess is his role has to do with time travel. He doesn't play until that white dragon goes back in time to interact with him.

I did not tithe. Someone in my group did, and if that person wants to put their name on the thread that is up to them. I won't reveal who they are.

Ok. Thanks, I had thought that was what she said, but swear something after went against that. Since I was unsure and couldn't find it in a quick scan, I asked.

Anyway Unlynch PBC and I will try again.
 
Not sure I would go as far as put a lynch vote for this reason, but is it only me that has noticed MJ is posting way less than usual? He's only posted 2 times since the game started, and one of those was a plain lynch vote.

The other games I have played with him have been an onslaught of posts

I'm packing ATM and will be going out with a couple friends later, but I'll peek here when I can and am definitely willing to waffle if Kata comes to defend herself and/or more info is brought to light.

I feel like there are a few people that normally talk considerably more that haven't really been present. That was why my discussion with Lupin about the 2 games earlier. But if that isn't the reason. I wonder why.
 
So who has been quiet today? Kata, MJ, STL, anybody else?

True. And if there is a reason that group is being targeted (if one of them is a wolf who can only kill within their own hold, though that's looking more unlikely), wolf-WZ will never target MJ (especially so early in the game) and wolf-MJ will never target WZ. So far neither of them have been the victim of the wolf kills and attempts on their hold.

Though that's all sort of WIFOM. (I'm always down for a Princess Bride reference 😉)

I did notice this, actually. I chalked it up to him just being busy, but when I looked at his post history, I saw that he's made multiple posts in other threads today. Probably nothing, but it's a little odd since he normally is pretty active during games, yeah?

We also always yell at him for being super active and always being suspicious (because he's MJ, duh), so maybe he's just finally learned.

Actually, what am I talking about? MJ learning to be quiet? Impossible.

I do assume he probably has a role related reason why he's not as talkative. He's too smart to pull the "wolf fading into background to avoid notice" thing.

Yeah, that's probably the most likely explanation.
 
As has been discussed, being quiet/a less active poster is normal for kata. I wouldn't be opposed to putting pressure on, but I have a feeling she's unlikely to be around to address for at least a couple more hours (or whenever she gets off work etc...no idea when but, evening-ish). Likely nothing there, but there were those additional points made about her (by kam I think it was?)

which personally i think it is a fine strategy.
Better to force the wolves to kill the active people, and leave thoughtful analysts for endgame.

Usually.... i think there is something else obviously going on in this game which makes the lynch the inactive strategy not worth it.
