Hi everyone. I'm currently in my 3rd year and myself and my flatmate (aslo a vet) are looking for people to sublet our flat this summer. My room will be available from mid July through mid September and I believe my flatmate's room will be available during July and August. I don't know how many of you have been accepted yet or have committed to going, but I figured I would just put the word out there early - I remember how stressful it was trying to figure everything out before moving. I believe the GEP's start in August and can arrive as early as July, so it would be really convenient to have a sublet lined up for your first month or two. If you think you may be interested let me know, I can give more information about the flat's location, cost, accessibility to the vet school and any other details to anyone who is interested. Thanks for your time and congratulations to everyone who has been accepted!

What is the class size of the 5 year programme?

I'm pretty sure I'm going to Edinburgh. Found a pdf about freshers week online and it seemed like the current students would help a lot with the transition from the US. I know for a fact finding housing, a phone plan, and all that other stuff is going to be beyond stressful. I don't even know how to apply for the visa! Or which visa to even get! Or where to get groceries. Or which area to live in. Or what to do about clothes. Do I just bring a suitcase with me?

For right now I need to figure out where this gigantic deposit is going to come from and what the heck I'm supposed to do with the financial guarantee form (any clues anyone?).

I want to say class size for the 5 year programme for the first two year is around 120, then during 3rd year the GEP's combine with you and it increases to around 160.

You will need to get a Tier 4 Visa... the school will send you information, just get your deposit in and then look up Tier 4 Visa, you will need the information from the schools (CAS) to finish the Visa application, it really is not that bad; just expensive.

I brought two suitcases with me filled with clothes. It worked out just fine. I don't know if you want to find your own place or stay in the dorms the first year... but if you are finding your own place look in Morningside or Newington areas... those are close to the bus routes to the school.

The financial guarantee form, IIRC, is just stating that you agree to pay them for tuition, etc, etc for the time you are here. You just have to sign it and mail it back to them... I believe you also have to mail back a photo for your student ID card, IIRC.
