Hey guys. I really want to apply to FAMU's pharmacy program. The problem is.. I already have 60+ credit hours from a community college, and I know that FAMU's pharmacy program is a 2+4 program. Can I be a transfer student into their pre-pharmacy program? Any info would be helpful! THanks 😀

they take around 2 or 3 students per year. If you want - feel free to apply - technically, somebody has to get those slots. Just know that it is a very slim chance if you do not already attend the school in the pre pharm program

Do you live in any where near FAMU, in any Military branch or are you black?? I'm serious (not in the racist way)...I know about 7 people (3 graduated from FAMU) and 4 are attending FAMU (Pharm)...They were the topguns (got in right after graduated from HS)...I want to go there too but my chance of get in to the Pharmacy program is slim than couple of nano-meter as my friends told me. The school pick local/black/smart/military student first.😱

No - I am not black - and its not offensive to talk about it - we had a pretty good minority thread a little while back that was very interesting. As for FAMU - it is a 0+6 program. Meaning most of their pharm students are accepted directly out of HS. Although it does accept a majority of minority students - the pharm program is very balanced. Yes, of course it is competitive - however, if you are applying as a transfer student - it is particularly difficult to matriculate. I am a florida resident, currently applying to pharm school. I applied to UF and Nova, skipping over FAMU and PBA. If it suits you, and you really want it - by all means apply and good luck.

Rubbish. Military? Living near FAMU? Being black? I've never heard any of those "myths," and frankly, they sound ridculous. FAMU is a public, historically black university, and they're notoriuous for giving preferential treatment to those students already enrolled in their 0-6 program. They also are very selective of their transfer students (true, normally top guns). Plenty of white kids enrolled in FAMU though, never met one in the military.

FAMU doesn't open any seats unless students drop out of the program. Just about everyone in their 1st & 2nd prepharm years continue on. If you want to go to FAMU, then enroll in the full 6 year program before you finish your prereqs.
