Has anyone finished the application for FAMU? I have my BS already, so should I still apply as an undergraduate at FAMU (that's what I get from the instruction brochure)? If I have to apply as an undergraduate, am I supposed to apply as a "transfer" undergraduate? I called the admission office, but no one seems to know what I'm talking about. Can anyone help me?

Do you currently go to FAMU now??? If not, I would recommend against applying there.

I do not have an exact # for admissions - but almost ALL pharm d students come from the FAMU pre-pharm 0+6 program. Each year the number varies - but it is somewhere around 6 to 10 students per year are accepted from outside the school...

Additionally - FAMU pharmacy program is currently on PROBATION from the ACPE for inadequately meeting standards all pharmacy programs are held to.

From the ACPE website here:

http://www.acpe-accredit.org/news/default.asp

This excerpt:

Florida A&M University College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (2006-2007; 2007-2008)
Doctor of Pharmacy Program: the probation status is continued. (See Interim Reports below.)

As always, this is just information for your thought - but when it comes to graduate school - I would recommend that you investigate your investment wisely - If this school loses its status - there will be dire consequences for those students attending it.

if you are a student at famu i say go in the office on the second floor to your right and ask the person at the desk there. She may even let you talk to the dean. good luck :luck:

I am not a FAMU student, so I guess there's no point in applying. I already know that FAMU is on probation, but I thought I would give it a try. Thanks for the tips, guys.

I agree, I go to Florida State right now and FAMU is in the same city. They are on probation because money got stolen on the corporate level and things are really screwed up over there, they could possibly lose their accreditation.
