Id rather do that then be in class.

Either way, its mandatory for us.

You'll probably be required to go to first year orientation, so check before you decide to crap out of it. You're going to be sitting on your butt in class for a long time, so start getting used to it. Besides, it's a good way to meet your classmates, start up study groups, etc. Have some fun for the 2 or 3 days that you will be an official medical student without any academic responsibilities, it'll pass real fast!

What's up corona... remember we met at the DMU interview and got drunk at the airport 😎 Anyway, I thought you're going to AZCOM? What happened? My orientation starts next week and I look at it as a way to get familiar with the area, drive to school, traffic situation and way around it, meet classmates without worrying about studying, etc. Make the best of it, and maybe skip the non-mandatory meetings... good luck!

You guys are nuts! I can’t wait for orientation. ….. it’s MED SCHOOL orientation. It will be a snore fest, but a rocking snore fest.

If they had emailed me the pertinent information from orientation, that would have worked just fine for me. The only fun thing about orientation was the mixer we had with the second years. If I didn't have to go, I wouldn't.

Great. Just great. 🙄 Just what I needed to hear right before my scheduled playtime, lol. Hopefully, it'll be a step above the "here's how you hold a toothbrush" lectures we got in undergrad... ZZZZZZZzzzzzz... I can learn more about all the fun stuff to do around town, and how to handle the rigors of med school, and... Now if someone would hold my hand, maybe I could cross the street! 😉

Actually, I think we spent like 10 hours meeting every professor. Lots of intros.

Most of ours was pretty practical stuff like getting your ID badge, fitting for white coat, library tour (yes it actually helps to know where stuff is), Q&A panel of 2nd years, etc. Not to mention that I met some of my best friends at medical school that week. It also really helps to know faces for which administrator or secretary to go for when you need help. And you will need help with something at some point.

You will also need friends in school as well as out of school, so take the opportunity to meet them now. It will be much harder to do after orientation.

T-buck and myself are bringing flasks. Also, Sept 3rd the Badgers play on Espn anyone down for boozing? Buckeye, you could come and just hate on the Badgers if you'd like.

Dont worry, Ill be hatin on the Badgers the whole damn season long.

Looking back, it's really interesting to see how people change from when you met them at orientation, and then 2 years later. It can be quite entertaining.

I don't actually remember anybody from orientation. I think I was too shell shocked or something. But, it doesn't take long to remember people's names.

I remember the guy who walked up to my husband and me and introduced himself to my husband but not me. The joke was on him when he found out I was the student. 😛

count me in on the flask situation, although I did see that the cubs play on the 31st at 1 in the afternoon, may have to excuse myself from orientation a little early.

PS. Is there a possibility that the Badgers could take Kevin Cosgrove back?

Cos if f##ing it up in Nebraska, seriously we want you guys to take him back, and you can have a Callahan too, we'll even throw in one of our 6 west coast quarterbacks.

Enjoy Callahan Husker nation, the Raiders nation was dancing in the street when he left. Get used to throwing on 3rd and 1 or 4th and inches. But he'll probably balance that with 4 yard slant patterns on 3rd and long.

Damn Right!

Nothing like some Jack to get u thru orientation

You should drop out now. You won't be able to handle straight days of on call, if you can't handle a 3-day orientation that is really designed as a social event to get-to-know your classmates.

By the way, ours was 5 days.

I am a rising 2nd year at VCOM, and orientation was a must. They set up our internet accounts and installed software. Also, if you are planning on being at the school, you might as well get your bearings and meet the faculty/students.

Good Luck!
