Georgia Regents does select in-state applicants with preference from what I have heard. The reason I chose to apply to GRU is rather unorthodox. My wife and I are both applying to graduate school (her to Dental School). We obviously want to be together for grad school, so we had to narrow our search to schools that have DPT and DDS programs. GRU is a great school in an awesome are that has both of our programs; that was my main reason for applying there. If you are a Georgia resident you should have a VERY high chance of acceptance since you already have an interview. The odds are stacked against me and that is why I chose to push their interview back for another school that does not have a resedence preferance.
That makes quite a bit of sense. I was looking at some of the percentages PTCAS posted for out of state percentages there, and it seemed GRU was almost as high as Emory in that department (plus from skimming the forums I've seen a lot of people post about applying there from OOS). Your reasoning makes sense though, and I also think you have a very good chance of being accepted. Your stats are much better than mine.
