Dr. Dough, I submitted my PTCAS application on Sept. 23rd, but I didn't have my supplemental application submitted by Ms. Kim until Oct. 10 due to some complications. I was wondering what the timeline was on you hearing back from them about an interview? Thanks!

I submitted my PTCAS app on September 12th, had my supplemental submitted on September 26th and then received an interview notice on October 11th. I am assuming they go off of the supplemental date but I honestly have no clue what their timeline looks like. From what I understand everyone who makes it through the initial screening process (GPA, observation hours, prereqs, etc) receives an interview so I wouldn't stress. As it got closer to the due date I am sure they had a lot more applications. Are you applying for summer or fall start?

I applied to USA- Austin in September and have an interview on Friday! Did you fill out the supplemental application and have your "enrollment advisor" submit it?

Hey Dr. Dough, I also will be at the USA - Austin interview this Friday. I'm coming from Houston. Where are you coming from?

Has anyone heard from MGHIHP, Rosalind Franklin, UIndy, or High Point?

Hey everyone, I applied to UIndy and received an email today stating:

"Although faculty were impressed with your materials, a limited number of interview opportunities exist and we are unable to extend you an offer at this time. You are currently being placed on a waitlist for consideration to interview on November 16, 2018. Should an opportunity become available prior to that date, you will be contacted to schedule an interview."

Did anyone else get waitlisted? Is there a way to tell where I'm at on the waitlist? Also, does anyone know how many people they interview?

I am trying not to be too upset, but I have to say that I am a bit disappointed in this... I guess it's better than a rejection. :/

I am trying not to be too upset, but I have to say that I am a bit disappointed in this... I guess it's better than a rejection. :/

I know it's disappointing to be placed on a waitlist, but it is miles better than a rejection. You not only have a chance at being accepted, you are among the majority, being that most students who attend PT school were initially on a waitlist.

From what I have gathered, schools typically like to have about 3-4 interviews per number of spots available in their program, because they know many people they interview will not be a good fit, and they also know many people will not attend their school even if accepted. So, first of all you should be proud to have been given an interview in the first place. U Indy states that they have 8-10 applicants per available slot, which means out of 360-450 applicants, you were chosen for an interview based off your stats alone. Keeping conservative estimates, let's say U Indy interviewed (or will interview) 4 applicants per slot. This means they interviewed (or will interview) 180 total applicants. So they chose between 40-50% of applicants to interview and you made it! Not only that, but you made it past the interview stage and onto the wait-list. This is huge! Again, keeping a conservative estimate let's say U Indy decided to reject 50 applicants from the interview stage (less than 30%). This means You are among the 130 students who are competing for 45 slots. Put another way, more than 1/3 of all 130 students who made it past the interview stage will make it into the program. You may think, 1/3? Those aren't very good odds. Well it gets better. Not all of those 130 students even want to go to that school. So if you subtract all of the students who end up taking other offers or declining for other reasons from the initial 130, you find out that you probably have more than a 50% chance of getting in. So relax, and take a deep breath. You are going to be fine!

Thank you so much for your kind words... while this does make me feel a bit better, I want to clarify that I have NOT interviewed at UIndy... I was put on a waitlist FOR the Nov 16 interview. So basically I have not yet received an interview. I am on the waitlist to interview, with the possibility of being pulled off of this list given that others do not attend the interview. Do I have a good chance of being selected to interview? I'm assuming not everyone will accept their interview offers... but I also don't know where I sit on the waitlist. :/

Thank you! To be honest, I really wanted to go to APU since it's a great program and also, fairly cheap compared to other programs. However, CSU Long Beach certainly would be nice since it's closer to my house and a lot cheaper! I'm also a huge USC fan so we'll see!
Can I ask how many hours you've completed for USC Fit Families?

Hey Futurept1129, thanks for the kind remarks! As far as the specifics of the interview, I cannot provide you with any info... because RFU makes you sign a confidentiality agreement as I believe many other schools do. However RFU uses MMI format (multiple-mini interview) so you can look into that interview format... Best of luck!

Has anyone here heard of getting placed on a "waitlist" for an interview at MCPHS and midwestern-glendale? Never heard of being placed on a waitlist for an interview, but MCPHS notified me that I am placed on a waitlist and if a spot opens up I will be notified via email to schedule my interview. Has anyone ever gotten the same notifications?

Thank you!!

Yes I also got waitlisted from midwestern in August I submitted my application very early and heard back from them early. I haven’t heard from them since and at this point I don’t expect to since I got waitlisted in August. I also got waitlisted for an interview at Indianapolis

I also got waitlisted for an interview at Indianapolis. I asked someone in admissions at UIndy about the waitlist and she said that the waitlist was extensive and didn't expect many people to get pulled from the waitlist, unfortunately :/ I'm bummed
