i'm just giving an update.

i'm doing a lot better in my classes than fall 2012; i got all F's in tests last semester. my grades are better this semester; my overall grade in my classes are a C. but i WILL be pushing it to an A, if not an A then most definitely a B for the end of the semester.

ive also came to the conclusion that i'm interested in forensic science as well. i want to pursue the veterinary field and forensic science but dont know how to go about it.

One option is to do both a DVM and a graduate degree in forensic science, forensic genetics, analytical chemistry, or something related to that. From what I understand, much of forensic veterinary work involves genetic testing, so make sure you take genetics if you want to go that route!

Congratulations on increasing your marks. Just know that you'll have to continue to increase them as time goes along. They will always be a barrier to entry into veterinary school - no matter what.

Also the specialty of veterinary forensics strikes me as a competitive field because (I assume) there may be high demand, but little funding. That said, if that's what you think you want... Go for it. Developing your career is a marathon not a 5k.

hey thanks for the responses.

as far as forensics, i wasnt thinking vet forensics.

someone was talking about maybe double majoring; biology (pre-vet) and forensic science (human).
they asked me what about forensic science in my minor but i already have a minor in chem.

Can you do this program whilst still in veterinary school? Or do you have to wait until you graduate?

Not sure if you know the answer JMO.... but just wondering... I have always loved forensics....

Most of them are online I believe so it's on your own time to get through the program (if I remember correctly).
