How competitive are most SMPs?

UPenn is not a SMP it is a post-bacc program with a certificate.

You are competitive for SMP's so don't worry about that. I would wait until the spring to apply for them because by then you'll most likely know if you need to reapply.

One other thing too. Don’t apply to a SMP because of its medical school. Apply to the SMP with the greatest affiliations and highest percentage of matching students into medical school. Anything below 90% is a red flag. An attrition rate of over 20% is also a red flag
