No, not on vet school...

I am swearing off looking at SDN or Facebook in the interest of more efficient studying.

Officially, starting at 5:45pm on Sunday 3/27th.

Let's see how long I last!

My wife gives me only 3 hours before I crumble.

I too have gone without internet for 3 weeks while in Belize.. I had no phone contact with anyone as well. It was glorious!!! But if its here I can't help myself!

Hi, my name is CurrySpice and I have an internet addiction!

Seriously... I love Google and the wealth of information that can be found at my fingertips!!!

I go months without logging onto facebook (only keep the darned thing to access pics from friends & contact info). I have also gone several weeks without SDN (tends to stress me out if I spend too much time on it as a pre-vet).

Last January I didn't have a computer (or electricity or running water most of the time) for the entire month. The information detox drove me a little crazy!

I am giving up Netflix for Lent! I still go on Hulu, but there's a finite amount of time I can spend on there. Trying to cut back on my computer time, but I'm planning travels for next year so I classify it as "necessary"

I could leave FB a lot longer than this place....I think because of the mysterious factor. I know everyone I am talking to on FB, but here I can experience a variety of characters. The most exciting part is the unpredictable comments and heated topics. Everything about a public forum is appealing to me, so I know it has got to be hard to leave for a lengthy amount of time.

SOV, If you can stay away until after finals.....you have a will of steel!

TT you also have a strong will to stay away for 3+ weeks! 👍

I'm going to join SOV. I've been gone for a week already, but now with some pretty poor grades in two classes, I'm not going to be on until after finals, if I survive the semester, so a planned absence till the end of april.

I don't have internet at home because I can't control myself. I wasted so much time as an undergrad online. Now at my boyfriends house, we both waste too much time on it (him on Utube, me on various sites, including this one 🙂). We actually make up a list of things that we need to do online, and when we decide to go on line, do everything on the list, and once we leave a site stop refreshing it (such as this forum - I check my e-mail, I check the forum, I check mint.com, and I don't come back to SDN to see who posts!!!!!), and put the laptops in the spare bedroom away from the livingroom. it has really helped.

I'm going to have be really strict about my internet access once I'm in school. I don't watch TV or watch movies, but the internet.....

This summer should help - I'll be traveling most of the time and my personal laptop is a dinosaur (macbook G4) that trying hard but needs to be retired, so I probably won't be on much this summer.

One issue is that I'm a writer - and I like writing my articles on the computer - my handwriting is atrocious and I type faster anyways. I may designate my old laptop as my writing lap top and not go on the internet with it, so I'm not distracted while I spend necessary time on it. Can't wait until July until I get my brand new school computer!!!! It's not what i wanted (I have to get the comp my school requires), but I've decided to get an ipad in conjunction with it and I think I have a system that will work for me and hopefully help me NOT waste too much time on the internet this fall.....

2 cups of coffee and I am WIRED. And obviously still not working. LOL.

Feeling under the weather today so skipping classes + not studying = internet usage.

If bre8162 doesn't claim it, I can re-use it for my next hiatus when I return to studying. I do think that my study breaks tend to lengthen needlessly, especially with SDN. But, no reason to forsake when I am not studying at all!

Sorry to disappoint you TT. You should have known I was too much of a hedonist to abstain for too long. Hell, my wife only thought I would last 3 hours!
