Immunology WW: Keep the Cat Alive

Hey all,

You know the drill with WW. This is an immunology based game, so you can use the excuse of doing this for education and all that jazz. We will be starting on December 29th on a LONG night cycle (so theoretically, check in won't be until the 30th if you can't get here on the 29th. I will be sending out roles most likely sometime between the 26th and 28th. This game is meant for 35 people! I can modify it to more or less, but due to the fact that I am not insane as I used to be (or more realistically that I have much less time than I used to), I will be stopping sign ups at 40. If room allows, I will be taking @BeautifulBritishColumbia as a co-mod

The format of this game will be a bit different. The main change is a slightly modified win condition for wolves, as well as a slightly different matter of taking out wolves (still undergoes lynches) Overall, the bias for this game will be much heavier to the villagers than my usual for games, so it will make it a fairly large challenge for those that are wolves (I am setting it up so majority of practice play throughs will yield villager wins).

Write ups will be lecture/case study style. As I stated in the current WW thread, new players are welcome to sign up, and I will give priority to new players that sign up early, but I will be prioritizing veterans if we start approaching that 40 people mark.

I did well in vet school immuno and my old research project was immuno-related. I picked vet school on the poll since I know I'm definitely no immunologist, but I'd be happy to look up concepts and try to explain during the game.

Really, my usefulness is going to depend on how in-depth and what parts of immunology are used.

IL-10 is one of the anti-inflammatory interleukins. It opposes the Toll-like receptors to reduce the immune reaction to lipopolysaccharide.

Also, my old research was with TLRs (TLR4, really), so now we're going to have to argue .

From what I can tell, IL-10 is important in the GI tract and was evaluated as a potential Crohn's disease treatment. I'll sign you up in GI.
