Deposit deadline is approaching quickly!

KCU Joplin
Pros
  • Cheaper tuition (~ $30,000 cheaper after 4 years)
  • Cheaper cost of living
  • P/F grading (see q below)
  • More stable Comlex 1 first take pass rate (92% 2022 | 90% 2023 | 92% 2024)

Cons
  • Further away from home (16 hr drive or fly)
  • Smaller town

PCOM Ga
Pros
  • Closer to home (6hr drive or quick flight out of ATL)
  • Bigger area, tons to do

Cons
  • More expensive tuition
  • Way higher cost of living
  • Potentially awful traffic (?)
  • Letter grading (see q below)
  • Varying Comlex 1 first take pass rate (87% 2022 | 84% 2023 😳 | 95% 2024 huge jump??)

Summary:
- Not sure how 3rd and 4th year rotations are at these schools, any current students insight would be greatly appreciated.
- Also, is P/F at a DO school *actually* an advantage? Would letter grading help residency matching assuming you have competitive grades?

PCOM was trying a new curriculum earlier to try to standardize it across the different campuses from last I heard. Perhaps the most recent scores are after a year or two of adjustments for that.

Letter grades aren't really going to help you.
