    Stanford Med Pass/Fall Grading Threshold?

Does anyone know the pass/fail threshold for Stanford's pre-clerkship courses? I've found the average for other universities that use pass/fail is ~68% however can't find any information on Stanford's website outside of "it varies." Any further information is super helpful, appreciate you!

    Pass/Fail Question

Hi there, I am currently a 3rd year in undergrad on the pre-dental track. I just finished up my fall semester and Orgo II went extremely poorly. I ended with a D+ so will have to retake the class at another university (if I don't pass/fail). My other pre-reqs have gone decent (Orgo I being my...

Taking Step 1 as a DO. Advice with P/F now

I’m beginning to wonder if it’s worth the extra stress and money to take step one if it’s past fail. I’m thinking about taking step two instead to get a score and sent me a part what is everybody else’s opinion on this. I want to be competitive and I just feel like another pass fail score is not...

Should DO take USMLE 1 & 2 or is STEP 1 no longer needed (so STEP 2 only) as it is P/F?

The specialty I want is not very competitive (PM&R or Community Neuro) so I am just wondering how many board exams I will have to take? Would applying with a P on COMELX 1 and a STEP 2 and COMLEX score be enough or will programs require I take get a P on STEP 1 as well as a STEP 2 score?

Pass/failing Ochem 2 and retaking it

I've never made a post on here before, so I'm not sure how this works, but I was just wondering whether I should pass/fail my Ochem 2 class and retake it or if I should just keep the grade and retake it. This semester was pretty difficult for me mentally (obviously due to the pandemic because...

Can I get into dental school with 2 C's and a "pass"?

Hi! Freshman year I did well in my classes, with an A- in General Chemistry 1, a B+ in General Chemistry 2, an A- in Biology 1, and A in all other classes I was taking including labs for the 3 courses mentioned before. However, come first semester of sophomore year, I ended up with a C in...

    Pass vs B- Multivariable Calculus

I'm a freshman pre-med. Fall semester, I ended up with A's, a B+ in Chem, and a B- in multi, which I currently have a pass fail on. With the pass fail, I have a 3.83 gpa, without I have a 3.65. Should I remove the pass fail? Should I take more math if I also have AP credit for calc 1 and 2?

Should the Step 1 pass/fail change affect my decision to pursue a research year?

Hi everyone! I wanted some advice regarding whether or not to pursue a research year. A bit of background: matriculated in 2018, mid-tier state school, 3 small derm related publications, all passes in pre-clinicals (P/F), with 1 honors and 2 high passes so far in my clerkships (H/HP/P). I...

    Pass/Fail

Hey all, I am currently directing my studies toward the premed route and was wondering about the repercussions of opting for the pass/fail option offered this semester. I am an associates degree RN and am getting my bachelors in nursing online. The class I am taking is not a prereq to med school...

    Mandatory P/F --- Should I take biochem?

This year, I have been taking the biochem sequence and was planning to finish it in the upcoming quarter before taking the MCAT during summer. However, our university now made our next quarter mandatory P/F. I am debating whether to stick to my original plan or to push it off to next year's...

Step 1 P/F - What does this mean for Class of 2023?

I'm kind of freaking out right now. I go to a lower tier MD school, class of 2023. Knowing that Step is an equalizer for students that work their butts off, kill Step, even though they don't go to Harvard Med was really encouraging. Now I'm feeling like there's even more barriers in front of my...
