Men. White Shirt or Pale Blue Shirt? opinions.

my suit: Dark Grey. Tie: Blue and Grey Stripes. i wanted to go with a light blue shirt. opinions?

Although I am not a man, I think I could still offer you an opinion being on a few interviews already and observing the men 😉

I would say go with the pale blue shirt...you don't want to blend in with the others who are gonna wear white shirts...I think it's okay to stand out a little bit. I definately noticed the male interviewees who were NOT wearing plain ole black suits with white shirts and boring ties. A couple of the men who stood out to me were actually wearing charcoal grey suits. One had a pale bule shirt with very subtle thin stripes in it and an awesome tie. Looked great!

so does this mean you are gonna shoot the other candidates in black suits at your interviews? LOL.

maybe you can take a small tape player with you in your pocket and when the candidates in black suits walk into the room, you can play organ funeral music for them....every time one of them says something, just press play on the tape player! haha

How about neither?!? It seems that 99.9% of male interviewees only own white or light blue shirts. Mix it up a bit. I refuse to wear these colors because I do not want to look like the rest of you! Ignore Iserson and everyone else who says wear a black suit and a white shirt. Wear whatever is your own style. As long as it's within reason, though...

wear black to a nightclub, funeral or evening function, but not to an interview. dark blue is a-ok. some attribute kennedy's success over nixon (in terms of image) as having to do with kennedy choosing to wear a blue suit on the campaign trail. nixon wore gray.

I have no intention of wearing a coat at pre-interview dinners. All those I've been invited are supposed to be casual so its a sports jacket at most for me.

As for blue, grey or black suit, I dunno if that matters too much. Nice shoes and a bold tie, however, seems essential...
