early January (2nd or 3rd) and was not officially
complete until January 16 (when my last letter came in). I was informed by e-mail and also by checking their on-line status page. Good luck!

You're very welcome! Oops, a bit repetitive! Anyway, it doesn't look good for me. I was complete there toward the end of October! On the other hand, maybe no news is good news? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Hey Italianlove:

I found out via snail mail, but I hadn't checked my status check in a long, long time, cuz it never, ever, ever changed, no matter how many weeks of "convenience" I waited. When I went back on now, there was a new button (however, all my info was still missing) that said schedule an interview. So if anyone checks their status check a lot, and see that, a snail mail letter should be coming. You use that button to view the possible dates to go for the interview. Good luck!

praying mantis, you are too kind, but thank you! Well, my greatest strengths are definitely not my stats, which are rather average (3.5/30, although verbal was high). I can only guess they are liking my essays (which are pretty basic -- why I want to be a doctor stuff with some lighthearted humor thrown in), my EC's (lots of music), my volunteering (an abused women's shelter and a program for mentoring at-risk impoverished jr. high girls), and my clinical (shadowed a doctor mornings for 3 months). No research at all. I don't think coming from a top-ranked undergraduate school hurts at all either.

hey ucla2000, congrats! i just got back from emory today and have two experienced pieces of advice

1) the most exhaustive day of your interviewing life. there is a 4-hour tour. yup, that's right! they show you every damn floor of their hospital and campus, in addition to a 30 minutes shuttle ride. i am VERY VERY VERY sore and tired right now.

2) no matter what anyone says, the 3-3 interview sucks bigtime. everyone that interviewed that day agreed with me that it was the worst interview experience they've ever had. they say it's non-stressed and conversational, but it's like a freakin' senate hearing! i felt like i was testifying. cant say enough bad things about it. maybe it was just my panel that sucked. bad part though is that you also hear the other people's responses and wonder, "do i sound that terrible and rehearsed?"

otherwise the school itself is great.

I was just wondering what the difference was between this thread and the thread titled 'schools currently requesting interviews' it seems a bit redundant to me..i think we ought to consolidate or choose one to stick with...but maybe I am misunderstanding and they are different...which is quite possible!

This one was actually created three days after mine was. I'm not sure what the point of this one is, but mine was set up for people to find out in an orderly fashion when the last time someone on SDN got an invite from a certain school, so they could (very) roughly estimate when schools have stopped sending out interview invites. I'm not sure what this sng33 wanted to do with this guy.

If you read the initial post for this thread, it was requested that interview invites after January 10th be posted in a certain format. This was to include stats and state of residence to possibly make a correlation between schools requesting intervews for less quality stats later in the interview process. This was initially well recieved on this board, yet the post has evolved into something different than intended and similar to yours. Hence, the reason the post was created was to get an idea of interview timing versus stats to give insight to where schools are it in thier selection. It is my estimation that the post is clearly different from yours!!!!!!!!!!!!

I received a St. Louis University interview invite today-2/11. It is post marked 2/6. They say they are interviewing on Tuesday, and to call to schedule the interview.
